Honestly great food. Was with a large group and everyone loved their food. Fried chicken sandwich (karaage chicken) and the chile lime shrimp burrito particularly great. Large draft beer list as well.

One of those rare places where you can try a bunch of food you’ve never had - and have it be awesome.

Used to love this place but the last 3 visits have been horrible from beginning to end. Service is hands down the worst service in Charleston. The last visit, our waitress never came back after asking for a minute to look over things. We waited 20 minutes before going to the bar for water refills and asking for someone to help. Once we were finally able to order the food was not great - overly salty, made incorrectly, and the lumpia tasted like old oil. One dinner just didn't get made at all. Not sure what's happened in the last few years but it's not been good for this business.

I'd been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now, and I'm glad I finally went! Service was attentive and prompt (though it was a slow Wednesday evening), and my server was knowledgeable. The food was delicious. I got the Lumpia for an appetizer, and the "Fili cheesesteak" for my main dish. Both were very good. Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes!

Vegetarian options: Not a vegetarian myself, but I did notice a decent amount of vegetarian dishes, especially compared to many other restaurants in the area.

Parking: Lot was okay when I was there on a Wednesday night, but I could see it being hard to find a spot on a weekend evening.

Currently sitting at this restaurant with my 3 and 15 year old and best friend. Came for the Bloody Mary bar. After sitting for 10 mins with no water or silverware, I asked if we could order drinks. Ordered them and the lumpia rolls, then they sat at the bar for 10 mins longer and I asked our waitress if she could grab our drinks because she had walked past them 3 times. After another 10 min when she did not come ask us for our order, I asked the other server. She came to him and shooed him away and proceed to tell us they were backed up and she couldn’t take our order right now but would be back. Another 10 mins go buy as other tables are waving there hands to try and get her attention. Finally, 30 mins later, she we get to order, remember I have a 3 year old telling mommy I’m hungry, can we eat. And still no lumpia rolls either. I’m now taking spam and bacon from the Bloody Mary bar to give him. Everyone orders and it comes to me, and I order the Karne Norte for the server to tell me oh I’m so sorry, we just ran out about 5 mins ago and proceeds to giggle!! I even say I don’t find this funny!! Finally the lumpia rolls have just came out!! There are now 3 egg looking rolls instead of the long skinny 6 rolls. Have now been here almost 40 mins and I am sending the spring rolls back. Worst experience at one of my favorite restaurants!! The food and the staff are horrible now!! Needs to go back to how it was!! Currently still sitting here as my 3 year old runs circles around the table because he’s hungry and still no food.

The food here seems a bit different from the very beginning when they started the business, chicken karage is different now, prefer the old ones more juicy and fresh. I wonder is the change in chef or recipe? The only thing that does not change probably is the spring roll. Overall still good service, understand due to inflation price increase but will prefer more protein on the plate than carbs. Just need to pick and choose with the food there, some are good some are mediocre.

When we arrived the staff were on the patio smoking (although it was after 4) and the customers who arrived before us almost left but the waitress came to unlock the door. We skipped lunch so we would be very hungry and anticipating a Filipino dinner but this did not even come close to meeting our expectations. I think my husband was the only Filipino in the building. The ingredients in the food were not traditional recipes and our dinners seemed to be microwaved. I would say if a Filipino family opened a restaurant in Charleston with traditional food from the Philippines the owners of Barkadas would eat there instead of his/her own restaurant. Just a suggestion if you ever decide to change your format, we ate at a Filipino Kamayan Feast style restaurant in Toronto with traditional recipes. The line of people waiting to get inside was down the sidewalk. Sadly to say we were disappointed
