Bistro at the Barge Reviews
This gem deserves more attention! I've had high-end meals all over the country and the attention to detail, preparation, and presentation are top-class here. The lobster rockefeller is genius. All the side dishes were on point and the tomahawk ribeye was perfectly cooked, despite being about 3" thick (which is a good thing)! This chef deserves to be in a major metropolitan area. Hurry in Charleston, you may not have him for long!
Order appetizers. They can be large enough for one, and even if one eats two, you can get it for an excellent price. The prices are lower than one would expect for an upscale restaurant like itself. Once again, my best suggestion for keeping prices low is ordering appetizers and eating them as small plates or tapas. On another note, the desserts and cocktails are lovely. Great atmosphere- the tables are MASSIVE, and, you know, looking at a moonlit river is always beautiful.
We love the upstairs restaurant for a fabulous meal and outside in the summer for quick 'bar' type food. Every meal we've had upstairs has been amazing! Lobster risotto, salmon Wellington, the scallops, to the filet. You can't go wrong!
