Favorite place in Charleston for seafood.

Purchased 2 dozen blue crab and meat was all mush. Also purchased 2 dozens oysters, saying a prayer that they are fresh. 9/19. Fabulous customer service is NOT dead! They went above and beyond! The oysters are wonderful as well!!!! I highly recommend!

This is an excellent steak and seafood store. The team is very helpful and the quality of food is great. We get shellfish from here a couple times a month.

Also, today the heat had gotten to one of my boys before we came into the store and he wasn’t feeling well. The team gave him water and were really supportive to help him feel better, and made sure we got in and out quickly. Huge help and very appreciated.

The staff is very polite and the owner is hot. They have the freshest seafood and steaks in Charleston. The baked goods are to die for!!

Wednesday afternoon I picked 3 Certified Angus Beef (CAB) Ribeye steaks cut at 1.5”, salted them and left open on a plate for 2 hours prior to cooking. Per norm, the service in the shop and freely provided cooking information was top shelf. I grilled them on a 700deg Webber to sear side 1 for 7 minutes, flipped and backed temp down to 500 for 6 additional minutes. We rested the meat 12 minutes and what an amazing piece of beef….. literally so tender, you could enjoy it Well Done, though Rare was as good as I’ve ever had. We will only buy Ribeye Steaks from General Steak & Seafood! Been our go to for Seafood for years, now beef and lamb as well.

My wife dropped by on the advise of someone who lives very close. She went in there and asked for a bone in rib-eye. The butcher on shift sliced up a thick cut and wrapped it up for her. I cooked it on our Webber doing a sear and then cool side with the chimney over the steaks until we hit 119F. I pride myself in cooking briskets, pork shoulder (butt), chicken, etc. this was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. This is our new butcher shop for sure, could not recommend enough.

Customer service is outstanding. Products offered are more than just great seafood. They also carry local organic meats and fowl. A must to check it out.

I love what these men are doing. If you aren’t getting your meat here, you are missing out. Their meats (beef, chicken, lamb, pork, etc.) are at least as good as their seafood! Do yourself a favor and stop by for a look. Red sauce, other sauces, stews, etc. are a bonus. Crab cakes are delicious. Salmon cakes too! This is THE place to buy your food!!

Joes has the very best filet mignon that can’t be found anywhere. All their meats are always so fresh & tender. I’ve had seafood in San Francisco, Seattle, New Orleans and none compare to Joes. And the prices are so reasonable. I’m in there practically every week. Absolutely can’t be beat anywhere.

Awesome place! Great meats and seafood. Expensive, but the quality is worth it. I won't even consider buying my fish from anywhere else. Staff is awesome too!
