The Cold Spot has some awesome food. The wings are delicious- well sauced, but not greasy. The hot Buffalo sauce is our fav, but the Carolina gold is great too! The burgers are fresh and there are so many options!! Do not pass up the fried mushrooms with homemade ranch appetizer! My favorite thing is the steak tacos with extra tomato and the Greek salad. My husband loves the gyros. We’ve never saved room for dessert, but I hear the baklava is divine.
Just ok. Clean place and once had good service. Came in with friends for lunch on Xmas eve, not crowded. Ordered at counter, paid and sat down. 2 of our group got food right away, not me. Waiting. 4th friend joined us, asked for his usual from his favorite waitress, it came. Not mine, I asked, she said she’d check . No food. Friends eating (as they should - no one wants cold wings). No food for me. Finally I went to counter and again asked - about 5 min later food arrived. Zero apology. Poor attitude. (I had pre paid too and tipped about 20-25%). Wings average, onion rings below average. Clean bathrooms however and plenty of TVs. Better places in town.
Wings are not that great. The sauces leave a lot to be desired, tastes are not close to what you’re looking forward to, swing and a miss in my opinion. Tough to get the good events on a TV.
I have a mixed review. Since our last visit, the menu has changed to add some "Mexican food" items. I decided to try the chicken taco meal, roasted cauliflower appetizer, and strawberry cheesecake. I was impressed with the appetizer - very nice size and good seasoning. We did not care for the sauce served with the cauliflower - just a personal preference. The chicken tacos, corn on the cob, and cheesecake were very good and I would order them again. However the rice and beans served with the taco meal really brings down this review. They tasted like unseasoned and cold white rice and mashed brown beans. No salt/pepper/flavor of any kind. It was just disappointing when comparing them to the rest of the food we ordered. Just a heads up - maybe stick to the menu items you know!
We use to love Cold Spot and frequent it. This last time we went it took longer than usual and the food wasn’t as good. The wings were not as crispy as we like. Hope it was just an off day.
Really nice place
