Quaker Steak & Lube

Hmmm. We recently tried this restaurant during a 2-week trip to KY/WV. Had not been to a Quaker Steak & Lube before and since it was close to the hotel thought we'd give it a go. It was okay. It would have been MUCH better if the restaurant itself had been kept up since it was built. It was like so many 90s/2000s restaurant chains that had built a bunch of locations, but had failed to keep them fresh and clean. The concept is great, and the overall look is neat when you walk in, but little has been done inside or outside to keep it updated, clean, or fresh. Our food was okay, but that's all. Personally, we would not return to one of these until the chain updates it's restaurants and emphasizes cleanliness.

The atmosphere was cool. The boom boom shrimp was legendary. The rest of the food was totally sub-par and overpriced. The service wasn’t great either, I called in a pick up order. They forgot my blue cheese, my fried egg, and left lettuce on my gyro. I was also charged $5 for extra meat which I’m doubtful I received. The gyro in total was $20+. The $6 gyro from Arby’s is significantly better.

We always love Quaker Steak and Lube, but this experience was probably the best. Our waitress Kristal was the absolute sweetest. Be sure to ask for her! ♥️

Cold and over and under seasoned food - missed half of the order

Came in at 7:10. Got our order taken, wasnt written down. Never got refills. Nobody came by the table. Never got our food at all. Waitress who took our order went around to other tables, outside, to the bar etc and was chatting to them casually. Didnt care at all until we literally walked up to the bar and told them that we would pay for our drinks and leave, and they said that drinks were on the house. Left at 8:30. Awful service. Good atmosphere at least.

I’ve seen these all over the place, and finally decided to try it. “Mediocre” is being generous. Ordering process was a nightmare. Decided to call it in and felt like I was causing trouble for doing so. Walked over from the hotel to pick up the order. No further comment on the staff, but refer to my initial statement on mediocrity. Everything I ordered was cooked exactly right and was clearly to their standards. The flavor of each item was downright nasty. I usually give anything two tries, but I ordered 2 meals and both were borderline inedible. I’m out. I wanted to love you QSL, but I don’t think we are a match. Best of luck to you all.

This is the first time we have been to a Quaker Steak & Lube and it was fantastic. The staff is super friendly and very helpful with the menu explaining the items and making great suggestions. The food was perfect. So hot, fresh, and tasty. We had a wonderful dinner experience. The restaurant was clean with a awesome atmosphere. We loved all the automotive items everywhere. We sat with a whole Stingray Corvette above our heads with another one mounted sideways on the wall....incredible. Thank you so much for the fantastic dinner.

First time I'd ever taken my father here who is a huge fan of anything that goes fast. He got the ribs which he enjoyed, but he spent his neal looking at all the memorabilia. I, as usual, got the wings and as usual they were off the chain good. Nice place to go to not have to be fancy and just enjoy a good meal.
