So pleasantly surprised!!! Our bartender and waitress Jennifer was lovely and fun. Best bar food I’ve ever had, better than many “nice restaurants.” Relaxed environment, not too loud. Can’t wait to come back!

Sandwich and salad took over 40 mins, soggy onion rings and Ruben, and they didn't include the extra dressing I paid for. Unhelpful staff but a cool dive bar atmosphere. Come here to sit for a while not to eat.

Sam's is one of the surprises of the often mediocre restaurant scene around Charleston. It's a dirty bar with simply outstanding food. A relatively complete menu accompanies a rotating list of specials that don't taste like they were just trying to clear out the freezer. The food is make fresh with care, and the service is quick. The wait staff sometimes wears their heart on their sleeve, for better or for worse, but I don't mind when they serve a meal close to home cooking. I'd never take my grandmother here, but I stop in here for lunch almost weekly.
If you want an authentic dive experience with amazing food and service, this is it. The cooks are amazing, regular specials are awesome.

At first I wasn't sure if the bar was open, or if I had found the right door. I stepped inside and found a kind-of grungy dive bar with lots of character and a great vibe. Food prices were super reasonable, and I was served quickly despite the full house. My sandwich was very tasty. This place has soul.

Excellent, catering and delicious food went beyond my expectations! They were able to provide my family with service when my family was in need for last-minute catering services! Would recommend 100%! The chicken salad sliders were out of this world!
