I ate at Shoney’s in Charleston, WV, and unfortunately, the food was a letdown. I ordered the spaghetti, and it came out barely warm and pretty watery, not the kind of quality I was hoping for. It just didn’t have much flavor, and the texture felt off like it had been sitting too long or wasn't fully heated through.
That said, the service was actually solid. The server was friendly and attentive, regularly checking in to make sure I had everything I needed. The other staff members were also polite and welcoming throughout my visit. It’s always appreciated when the staff is polite and helpful, even if the food misses the mark.
To be fair, I didn’t have to pay for the meal, so that took some of the sting out of the disappointment. Still, if I had paid out of pocket, I would’ve been more frustrated. Overall, I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again unless the food quality improves.

If I could leave 0 stars I would everything was cold the meat wasn't fully cooked I had a few ribs, fish and rice it tasted a little off ended up throwing that up and I feel awful now I DO NOT recommend this place the waiter was respectful and understanding the salad bar was not any better croutons was soggy jalapenos was sat out for a long time or they set the oldest batch they had out none of the food was good I'll never eat there again, none of the food was labeled, the floors were disgusting, we paid 30$ (2 ppl for the buffet) and wasn't even able to eat any of it, we need a refund.

Pretty good, still more pricey than it should. Since yall can't see the price on here. 11.49 for evening buffet. There wasnt any desert on desert table, and the ice cream station was gross. The little tubs if icecream was hard as rocks. But mostly food was good. Changed my review. Came in the evening, prices went up. Now the weekend buffet is 17.99. So we went for the double burger combo for 7.99. Come with fries, Cole slaw and a drink. Didn't get our coleslaw. Waitress got busy. And forgot us. To many bad experiences here to comeback. Won't be back

I was impressed with this place, the employees were really great, especially the young lady who made me a chocolate shake that wasn't on the menu, she was more than happy to do it. Nowadays you kind of expect an attitude if you ask for something else. This to me is the sign of good leadership and happy employees. Thanks guys, stay kind and pleasant in a world filled with ugly and hateful.
What a great experience! I haven't been to Shoney's in years and this was my husband's first time ever, and it was wonderful! We were greeted first thing inside the door by a very friendly young man, and our waitress was an absolute gem 🤗Everyone that we encountered was super friendly and helpful and the team stocking the buffet was really on their game. The food was fresh and hot and we ate until we couldn't eat anymore 😋 thank you for being just as awesome as I remember from all those years ago and giving my husband a great first meal too.We will be back every time we drive through!
