My husband and I arrived too early for Ribfest so we stopped at Super Weenie for lunch.
I had the WV Dog and it was amazing! I have a special place in my heart for a good hotdog and they are just as good as my favorite from the Kan City bowling alley (Galaxy Lanes).
The owner is super friendly and conversational too.
If you are in downtown Charleston for lunch, I highly recommend this place. :)

Great find on a road trip - located about a mile off 77. Vegan Italian sausage option, and the staff was very helpful with distinguishing which of the many toppings are vegan. Food was quick and tasty, and we’ll be stopping back! FYI at the time I’m writing this, the staff said they may be moving locations in the next few months, so check their site first to make sure!

Today was my first day eating from Super Weenie and I am HOOKED. I ordered 2x WV Hot Dogs, and 1x Chili Cheese Bacon Beast and hot dang those are some good hot dogs! The cole slaw really brought it all together as the slaw was tangy and when combined with the crunchy and crisp onions, that was it! Heckin delicious!Can't wait to come back ?

Disappointed. I drove a long way just to find them closed. I decided to eat lunch at a local competitor. A local shop owner said they close during normal hours frequently. You might want to call ahead.

My sister and I had plans to spend the day downtown (completely forgetting about the Regatta). When it was time to grab food, we checked out the vendors and weren't particularly impressed with the selection or the price.
Neither of us have had super weenie before and since it was close to where we were parked, we chose to go in.
First of all, the atmosphere is SO CUTE and we were greeted by friendly faces that explained the menu. Think, Hillbilly Hotdogs creativity but without the wait (no shade, but it is what it is). I got the Old World with a Cheddar Brat and she got the Old World Dog and the WV Curry dog at the recommendation of the person taking our order. I especially like the added touch of the tide pens for sale and the various assortment of tums, etc. (GENIUS).
The service was again, super friendly and very quick. The price was right too. I'm sure each of us would have easily paid our combined total for just one meal at one of the vendors at the Regatta.
Both of our meals were fantastic. Her WV Curry Dog ended up being my favorite so I will be back for one of those.

The best hot dogs in Charleston hands down. The wv slaw is as if my mom made it! True hometown/WV hotdogs. Because I’m a mom, I have to add that I was EXTREMELY impressed that the guy offered to split my toddlers’ hot dog wiener down the center to avoid choking hazards. Like what?! Absolutely! 10/10 recommend
Kid-friendliness: They split my two toddlers’ hotdog wieners to avoid choking hazards! They offered, didn’t even have to ask. Very impressive.
We stumbled upon Super Weenie while passing through Charleston. The staff could not have been nicer and every member of our family loved the food. You can't go wrong with whatever item you pick from the menu!

I love hot dogs and these are far and away the best I've had. The service is friendly and quick, even when they're busy. My only wish is that they would keep consistent hours. I tend to forget about them when deciding where to eat because I've gone so many times just to find them closed. Hopefully, they'll find a way to stay open during their posted hours and, hopefully expand a bit so that I can pick up dinner after work.

We tried Super Weenie for the first time today while visiting Charleston and it was delicious! I got the Super Weenie, which I loved so much that I had to go back and try a second hot dog the same day. I went with the New York style hot dog (recommended by staff or owner?) for round two and it was MAGICAL. The onion sauce makes your taste buds dance a happy dance. Service 6/5. Hot dog 6/5. Cute little eat in area as well. Highly recommended !
