Classic friendly dive bar, everyone was so friendly and the beers were cold. I was stopping through Charleston on a larger Amtrak trip and this was one of my favorite watering holes I discovered during my time there. I was there for an hour or two during Jazz night too which was an even more fortunate coincidence.
I walked up in this place looking like an out of towner (totally am) but they accepted me for who I was 🥹. The band was TOP NOTCH. And I do mean top notch, sirs 👏🏻👏🏻. Moving to Charleston was a fantastic decision, all I needed was to find a local bar I felt comfortable in & not like everyone around me wanted me to be pretentious like them (*cough*go down the street *cough* a couple turn arounds *cough* you'll find one of the bars I'm not so graciously...
I wish I could give a five-star review but I can’t. The bartender really ruined my experience. I haven’t been able to go out with my brother and sister together in a long time and we also went to see my uncle perform there. My brother, sister, and I waited for a few minutes to order food while the bartender had a casual conversation with another customer.
