New Heritage Distilling

We stumbled across New Heritage Distillery while visiting Davis, and I’m so glad we made the stop. It’s a little tricky to find at first—the bar is upstairs, and the actual distillery is around back but once inside, we were warmly greeted despite the small crowd.

What we thought would be a quick tasting turned into a full experience. The owner was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, letting us sample each spirit while explaining how it was made and what made it special. I ended up buying the Holl’r Girl Amaretto (amazing!), and they also had local maple syrup and other great products for sale.

Someone I believe was his wife was bartending, mixing up craft cocktails and sharing recipes using their liquors. Everything felt local, handcrafted, and filled with love. They said their liquor rarely leaves the valley, and I totally get why it’s seriously good.

Absolutely worth the visit would recommend to anyone passing through, definitely pick up two bottles though if you plan to try and take some home!

Awesome place! I wandered in on a rainy day and am glad I did. The owner met me and was super friendly. He showed off the entire process and then had samples available. I ended up with a few bottles. He also had great recommendations for local places to check out. A+ experience and product.

Staff was friendly and helpful. I couldn't try the alcoholic products, but as soon as I sampled the maple syrup I knew I had to get a bottle.

The distillery is down and behind what is a now empty convenience store. Don't be discouraged, because us the space is wonderful.

We've been here a few times, and the brandy that they make is fantastic. We've always been when the traffic was slow, so alas we missed their first run of Amaretto liquor this past weekend.

The staff is also friendly and helps with recommendations around town! We have basically decided that whenever we're in the area we stop. I recommend the place to anyone.

Our first trip to New Heritage was awesome. I believe the distiller / owner helped us with great explanations and I really like the Maple Syrup Brandy. We happened to be back a few months later and stopped in for more!

They were extra helpful and could easily accommodate our large ish group. Awesome host and product. Don't question it, just GO!

Amazing place! And amazing products!

In the area for a weekend getaway and stopped in. Vic was super nice and helpful! He gave us plenty of sample tastes! Bought a bottle of Maple Syrup moonshine for my dad! And the maple syrup itself was delcious! Also had a nice jalapeño syrup as well!

We first became acquainted with VikBob a few years ago when we purchased a bottle of the maple brandy. It was great and we’ve used it in different recipes. We are currently soaking black cherries in a jar of the “stuff”. This summer (actually August) we stopped by and met Heather who is creating jars with the ingredients including oak spirals to make her “recipes” like Apple Pie and Strawberry Lemonade. We did some tastings and decided to buy one of her kits for making apple pie brandy. We also bought a jar of the clear brandy. Both owners are willing to provide free tastings and they’ll take the time to chat. You don’t feel rushed. We vacation in Tucker County West Virginia every summer and we’ll continue to stop in for a visit every year.
