“We stayed at the Billy Motel one night for a wedding in the nearby Blackwater Falls State Park. Upon first glance, it could be any old motel on the side of a road in a small town, but the Billy is a hidden gem. It’s a slice of mid-century charm close to the park and towns of Davis and Thomas. The vibes inside the restaurant/lounge are amazing. We had a couple cocktails at the end of the night. The bartender was friendly and the drinks were fantastic. The mid-century decor was cute and fun. The room was spacious with a very comfortable king bed, one of the most comfortable I’ve had in a motel. The room was clean. The only upgrades I would have liked to see are a mini fridge and microwave. I’m not sure what was in the water glass in the room, but it was not water. If I’m back in the area, I’ll stay again!

Rooms: Rooms were spacious with very comfortable beds. No mini fridge or microwave but they provide a cooler.

Food & drinks: Food and drink were delicious! Open all afternoon (3-12)”

“We tried the Ice Cream Shop in Davis this past weekend and it was AMAZING! Several people in our group agreed it was THE BEST ice cream we've had. Everyone agreed it was awesome. I loved the Peanut Butter ice cream! We'll be back!!”

Kid-friendliness: Moms and Dads... they let the overly whiny baby cry in the dining room for their full meal. So... it seems most days they are understanding, even if the rest of the bar was rolling their eyes. Still welcoming for all.”

“Trailhead Coffee is one of my favorite coffee shops - their Real Maple Syrup Latte is absolutely amazing! I always make it a point to get coffee here on any day that visiting Canaan Valley. They are awesome and I highly recommend them!”

“Our family of two adults and two pre-teens really enjoyed our time. Timberline is well run and well maintained. The food is blah but met expectations. Definitely helps to have perfect weather and conditions! Shout out to our ski instructor Taylor who helped us get going on the first day! Upper Salamander was a crowd pleaser!”

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sirianni's Cafe. We are so thankful for their incredible staff for providing the food for our rehearsal dinner back in Summer 2023. Michael and his team did a phenomenal job with the pizza and salad options! Everything was absolutely delicious!! Michael was super flexible in helping us to offer gluten free and vegan pizza options for our friends and family with dietary restrictions. Everyone at Sirianni's was kind and communicative. “The store is a nice place to eat. The best time to eat there is when Carly or Lily are working. They know how to make the sandwiches and close them without everything falling apart when you go to eat it. So if you want a great sandwich with great service go see these 2 ladies at Subway!

Vegetarian options: Lots of variety of fresh vegetables, and sauces for salads, or sandwiches!

Parking: It's located inside the bfs gas station, so parking is in the parking lot, but they also have a parking section beside the store.

“We did a big take out order on Valentine’s Day! Had to special request no cheese due to an allergy. Everything was perfect! Food was amazing! Fresh ingredients and season perfect! I suggest trying the salmon! 5 Stars!!! What a gem in such a small town!”

“The restaurant is really nice with good food and very conveniently located especially if you are staying at the lodge. The views are spectacular with lots of windows to take in the surrounding beauty of the canyon. Our server Caitlin was simply wonderful, thank you Caitlin. We were quite pleased with the each meal we enjoyed there.

Parking: Large parking lot since the restaurant is located inside Blackwater Falls Lodge.

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, it is wheelchair accessible since it is one level and flat from the parking lot all the way to the restaurant. If you are staying at the lodge there is also an elevator.”

“Not sure why this place is rated so low, don’t listen to the hype! Any place with a salmon BLT is worth it, especially for slope side food! We had a wonderful lunch- I got the salmon BLT, and the nachos and buffalo chicken wrap were ordered by two friends, also impressed by the food quality. Beers on draft paired nicely with the food, and the view of the slopes was fantastic. Highly recommend !”
