“After a day on the slopes I needed some good food fast and asked some of the folks working at Timberline where to go. They both recommended Picnic Tacos and it did not disappoint. I got the 2 taco plate that came with rice, beans, and a couple plantains. Both tacos were good, but I did like the chicken over the pork. Maybe I should've tried the ground beef? Next time for sure.”
“We ordered burgers - classic and impossible burger with kale salad and brussel sprouts. Fabulous food and environment. Quick and delightful service. Very clean. We will be back.”
“Coffee was good but that’s not why I’m writing this. I stopped off to grab a pour over and got behind two interesting patrons who got to the front of the line and inquired about gluten free options (the cashier explained the offerings and showed adequate concern only to be told it was a preference and not medical). They then inquired about pumps of syrup and milk options. The cashier again showed concern and offered accommodations to what was once again “preference”. It took these two Karens 15 minutes to order based upon their “ordering for Karens” guidebook and it was handled so professionally. I was so hoping they would be offered some free mushroom jerky but alas they were not. Anyone who could deal with that and take them seriously and not mess with them even a little bit is a saint.I didn’t get my pour over because of the time (my decision) but my cold brew and gluten filled cookie (I don’t have Celiac) were wonderful.”
“Great little place! Beer was great! Among our group….We had pizza, hoagies, and their s’mores flatbread! Pizza was great, the s’mores flatbread was great….the meat on the hoagies was a bit salty, but otherwise good flavor! We’d return again if we were in town!”
“This is like the only really good place in the area to get food. Lots of good food here. I haven’t had any bad experiences here. Just wish there was more room! You might run into some problems if you plan on coming with a large group. Might be best to order and take your food.”
“We had a fun time getting a cocktail here before dinner. Nice staff and nice patrons at the bar. Very cool and enjoyable ambiance. Oh and the drinks were great and pretty stiff :) gave 5 stars for rooms though we didn't stay the night - NA would be the more appropriate option.”
“My friends and I enjoyed drinks at Stumptown Ales after a full day of hiking in the area. The taproom has a quaint, charming atmosphere with a mix of bar, high top, and rocking chair seating. The outside store front and tin roof are really cool features of the building. At $5-6 for a beer on tap, you can't beat the prices. Stumptown doesn't offer a food menu, but does allow food to be brought in. With their beers being hop centric, I opted for the Cave Dweller pale ale. My friends enjoyed a Blawberry Smooth Eez sour and a pineapple cider. The drafts are listed on the blackboard above the bar and there's a drink menu including a variety of mead and wine. I would've loved a more seasonal draft but definitely enjoyed!”
“We were there for wing night (Wednesday 's). Very quiet, nice people. The wings were GREAT. STOP IN AND CHECK THEM OUT. They have other foods, but you CAN'T get other food on wing night. ?, (just in case you wanted different food on wing night)Parking: Plenty of parkingWheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp for handicap”
“Super cute local cafe with some bangin' breakfast. Great service and food came out super quick! Girlfriend got the biscuits and gravy while I opted for the huevos rancheros. Both were great. Breakfast potatoes were super crispy and flavorful. A must stop if in Davis!Kid-friendliness: High chairs and booster seats available”
“I was here back in Sept/Oct 2023 during a hiking trip to Blackwater Falls...and loved everything about this place! I had to get that Tuna Dip (because why not)!) and it was fantastic!! I generally loved everything about this place. A must stop and my next trip ”
“My family and I agreed that Trailhead had the best Latte(s) that we have had in quite some time (including some near by competitors). Small space, but staff were welcoming & quickly working through orders. The stickers and small gifts were a nice addition. I did not try any pastries, but they looked delicious.”
“Our family of two adults and two pre-teens really enjoyed our time. Timberline is well run and well maintained. The food is blah but met expectations. Definitely helps to have perfect weather and conditions! Shout out to our ski instructor Taylor who helped us get going on the first day! Upper Salamander was a crowd pleaser!”
“As close as you can get to eating in your mom’s kitchen, with great home-cooked breakfast. Not too fancy but all fresh and very tasty. Would have given five stars but we were there at the end of a very busy service day and the strain of the morning was starting to show. Would gladly dine again. Cash or check only. There is an ATM in the dining room.”
“Visited after a day of skiing but quickly realized you have to show up earlier. Group of us walked in around 7:20 (they close at 9) and were told right away “We only have wings and pulled pork and running low on some sides”, was kind of a bummer but we stuck around and ordered wings and pulled pork along with Mac-n-cheese and fries. The wings were really big and tasted great but the sauce is on the side, the pulled pork was also good. Mac-n-cheese was ok, was a lot like KFC and fries were just normal fries, nothing good or bad. Most disappointing part was the service. Has an open kitchen and could see the frustration from the cook preparing orders, the food runner wasn’t the most inviting either. Seemed like most the staff(not all) were just annoyed. Lastly, the sauces were “meh”, just wasn’t the traditional style BBQ sauces but may be good to other. Overall I’d go back again but would def go earlier and hope some of the staff was in a better mood.”
“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sirianni's Cafe. We are so thankful for their incredible staff for providing the food for our rehearsal dinner back in Summer 2023. Michael and his team did a phenomenal job with the pizza and salad options! Everything was absolutely delicious!! Michael was super flexible in helping us to offer gluten free and vegan pizza options for our friends and family with dietary restrictions. Everyone at Sirianni's was kind and communicative. We are so fortunate to have worked with Sirianni's Café and can't wait to be back there again soon!”
“Stopped in and got a crème brûlée frappe and a side of fries. The frappe was delicious as were the fries. They are spiral type fries and come with condiments. The place is located right when you walk into the lodge on the left. The prices are def a little pricier because they are inside the lodge and it’s convenient, but I don’t think they are that bad. Plenty of seating, as well as a la carte options, and some bakery items as well. It’s a nice little cafe for a quick bite”
“Yummy! We had originally picked another place to eat but it was closed so we ended up here. I'm so glad we did! Had the Dead Parrot sandwich. It was finger licking good! Super nice people running the place. You can see by the looks of "The Lounge" (where you sit to eat) there is a lot of character at the place.”
“Not sure why this place is rated so low, don’t listen to the hype! Any place with a salmon BLT is worth it, especially for slope side food! We had a wonderful lunch- I got the salmon BLT, and the nachos and buffalo chicken wrap were ordered by two friends, also impressed by the food quality. Beers on draft paired nicely with the food, and the view of the slopes was fantastic. Highly recommend !”
“Subway resteraunts are usually clean and offer good quality ingredients and this one is no exception. The staff person was very pleasant and attentive. The sandwich’s she made were fresh and very good. The store that the subway is housed in is also very well stocked for this area. Overall this is good casual dining experience.”
“The reviews don't do it justice, we had the calzone, stromboli and fettuccine romano and it was very good. I was taken aback when I first saw the price but after seeing the portions when we got home it made sense.. they were IMMENSE and delicious (only feedback would be to put a disclaimer that the large can feed a family). My fiancee is a fried mozzarella/cheese stick aficionado, those made it in her top 3 for the year.”
“NO Buckwheat cakes Earlier this week, a server advised that Buckwheat cakes were on menu until 11:00 -- No, this is not the case. Often there is a Breakfast buffet and expect a nice lunch and dinner menu. Smokehouse has been recently updated and is worth a drive from Canaan Valley. Great service and ambience - give it a try.”
“This place is strange. I do not know how else to say it. I've eaten twice there in the past 6 months and both times my meal was excellent food, very tasty steak, overall good food. Strange? I called to see if they were open. Terse answer: YES. Do I need reservations? Some silence , then "Do you want one ?" Yes, dinner for 2 at 6PM please. "OK we'll see you at 6 O'clock." Clunk. I get there a little early. One table out of 6 visible tables was taken. After a short wait, we were seated. Two ladies came in after us wanting a meal. The waitress/receptionist asked if they had reservations. Answer: No. Reply: "Sorry." And the ladies left. AT NO POINT in the evening were more than 3 of the 6 visible tables occupied. I have no idea what makes them tick at this place. Almost an unhappy attitude under the surface ?”
“Come here for the apples, but make sure to leave here with a pie! This is the best apple pie I've had in a really long time. The sweet doggo greeting at the door is a bonus. They also offer apple butter and drinks. If you're not hungry, stop by to appreciate their cute window display.”
