Mountain State Cakes Bakery

On our recent visit to Pocahontas County my family stopped by Mountain State Cakes. I am so glad we did! The smell of fresh baked bread and sweets met us at the door along with the biggest smile! Each case had something that looked better than the last. We got a little bit of everything, cookies, a cake, bread, doggie treats and amazing pizza rolls! Everything was amazing! It truly is a must if you are in the area!

I stopped in today and bought sticky buns. The best ever!!

I love pie. This bakery has some amazing pie, like best-I’ve-had-in-5-years pie. Donuts, scones, and pepperoni bread were all great too, but I’m dreaming of that pie!

wife & I Happened to stop in on Friday was talking with the girls picked up a couple things like the cream filled cookies cheesecake said are good buys .Got on the car opened a oatmeal cream cookie was hooked .we went back on Saturday bought all 13 oatmeal cookies she had 2 more cheesecakes and have had her send a order of cookies Washington DC/Maryland .and I can say they have made it all the way to the S court justices .So I guess am saying they liked by us Thanks Terry H. Ps would like to order dozen oatmeal raisin

Been by this little building probably 50 times over the years and never really noticed it. There's not a lot in the area, so when I saw they were a bakery we stopped in for some treats. The white chocolate macadamia cookies were chronic. The mini cake was good. I will say the Pepperoni roll with marinara is the best pepp roll I've had in a long long time. I initially judged the lack of grease dripping out as a sign of a poor roll, with a lack if fillings like Chico Bakery, but boy was I wrong. Tons of pepperoni and cheese And super soft dough, like you can tell a baker made these, just perfectly made. It had just a hint of sauce that made it perfect. I always say Federicos in Steubenville, OH have the best rolls because they use sauce in them , but I'm gonna give Best Roll status to Mtn State Cakes. Thanks again!

First time I was near here it was 5 am and they weren't open. Caught them open and I am glad I did! The lady doing the baking and running the show was out front taking a break in the warming sunshine when I pulled up around lunchtime. She welcomed me in and told me everything was freshly baked but pointed out exactly what had been baked most recently. There was a tray of lovely, perfect pepperoni rolls and I had to get some of those. I went with jalapeno and cheese, Colby and mozzarella. I ate the jalapeno in the parking lot. It was exquisite! It was definitely up there with the best pepperoni roll I have had but it was by far the best one with cheese I had ever tasted. I ate the Colby one the next day and it was great. I gave the mozzarella one to a neighbor and she raved ( she had never had one). I got three cookies..... monster, butter pecan and peanut butter chew. All good. I also picked up a loaf of salt rising bread. This was a HEAVY load and although I have not eaten much salt rising bread I have enjoyed it immensely. Made great toast

This is such a nice little bakery in dunmore! Everyone inside was nice and welcoming and their treats were so yummy! It was a great place to stop and grab breakfast pastries or a yummy pepperoni pocket for the road!
