While it was midweek, several of us stopped by for lunch. The staff were friendly and polite. The food was great. If I find myself in the area again, I’ll be sure to eat there.

Spit out your food bad. I’ve never done that before at a restaurant or taken the time to write a review, until now and we are highly disappointed. Tasted like everything came straight out a microwave. Ordered a pizza and got a pasta instead. Ordered one type of street tacos and got a different type. Table across from us had to send their food back too. Honestly the grossest thing I’ve had in years… don’t understand why this is rated so highly. We were literally talking about pizza sizes with the waitress and she put in a pasta order…. How??? Bad bad bad!!!!!!!!!!

We were looking for a local establishment as we wandered through WV. CJ Maggie's DID NOT DISSAPOINT. The Lizard Lips were fabulous. The Baked Steak was a homey and satisfying comfort food (country fried steak without the coating). The stuffed pork Tenderloin was excellent. The sides (potato boat, cheese corn and mac & cheese) were on par as well. Portions were generous (at lunch). The only negative was that the tenderloin was slightly over done. But it was still delicious. The atmosphere is charming as well.

This place is awesome. Baked steak was excellent. The pork tenderloin with apple was very good. But my favorite was the lizard lips appetizer. Service was good also. The atmosphere is really fun, its a little quirky, but not cheezy. And the seating spacing is really nice, the tables are not stacked so closely you can eat off the next tables plate.

CJ Maggie's is a go-to spot in Elkins. A very interestingly designed interior with a variety of spaces and table sizes. The menu is huge enough to suit everyone in your group. Great pizza and subs, salads, etc.

Drove 2.5 hours to have dinner there with our daughter and son in law. I have a disability where I am unable to sit down at all. My son in law walked in and asked if they could accommodate us in the bar area. Hostess was more than happy to do that.
We were seated and a waitress comes and gets our drink order and appetizers and before the lady even came back with our drinks, a very rude blonde server yelled from the back of the bar area “you can't be sitting back here, the bar is closed and no bartender”. We told her the hostess sat us here after we asked due to my disability. She said “that's too bad” but you still can't sit here.
Meanwhile, the server was bringing our drinks and before my daughter drink was finished a long hair, unprofessional man approached us and told us again, we couldn't sit there because the bar was closed therefore nobody could be in the bar area. Mind you the place was serving alcohol to the people seated. We again explained my situation and his response was “I don't know what to tell you, but you can't sit here”. I called the WV ABC board for Randolph County, and they said there are no laws or ordinances that would have prevented us from sitting at a bar in a facility where alcohol is being served. It was the bar owners rule to not allow you to sit there.
We told them to forget the drinks and appetizers we ordered (did not even get to take a drink of the soda nor was the apps delivered). As we were leaving my daughter asked to speak to a manager because I was in tears and totally embarrassed from the whole situation. She was told there was none there. How do you not have a manager there during business hours?
My daughter called the main office in Buchannon, WV today, and the lady there told her “we don't know how to accommodate people like that”. People like that? What does that mean exactly?? What kind of “people” am I. The hostess did try to accommodate us!
I have never been so belittled in my life. I didn't ask to have this disability, and now I have no desire to eat in public places in fear of this happening again.
I will be filing a complaint with the Federal ADA as well as the BBB so that nobody else receives the treatment that I did.
Do not support this business as they discriminate against those with disabilities!
We had a delicious meal at CJ Maggie’s. We were in town for a quick trip and lucked out with this adorable spot! The menu is extensive and includes so many fantastic choices! We enjoyed the wings, Alfredo bites, fish street tacos and the BLTC. We finished our meal with two scoops of the homemade ice cream. The service was outstanding! Abby was very kind and very knowledgeable about the menu. Portions were very large. Wish we could’ve taken our leftovers with us! Highly recommend!
