A Diamond of a restaurant in Elkins, West Virginia! The food and service were top-notch. We had the best evening with beautiful views and delicious food and drinks.
Nearby activities: Elkins train ride and Big Timber brewery.
Food and drinks: We had the chef six course special!

An amazing meal with a beautiful view. A relaxed fine dining experience that allows you to explore the true talents and vision of a West Virginia chef. We tried the tasting sampler which allows you to pick a course from each section of the menu for a fixed price. The best item was the charcuterie tray.

My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary at this amazing restaurant this past weekend. It was recommended to us by friends that live in the area. This restaurant captivates not only your palate, but your sight with it's breathtaking views. The ambience is very quaint and inviting. We opted for the tasting menu, a couple of drinks, and beautiful views on the side. The drinks were crafted perfectly, getting better with each sip. The dandelion martini complimented my meal and was very delightful! The food was plated with perfection, and the flavors pleasant and light. I chose the spread plate, caprese salad, shrimp bisque, crab cake, and creme brulee. Although all were amazing, the front runners were the shrimp bisque and crab cake in my opinion. I could have ate just a large bowl of the bisque and been in heaven. We had more food than we could eat, but enjoyed every second of it. Highly recommend treating yourself to this fine dining experience.

My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. It was a warm summer evening that we were able to enjoy dining outside while looking at the gorgeous mountain view. The ambience is casual in an upscale way, without pretentiousness or stuffiness. The food was outstanding. I selected the tasting menu (not prix fixe - you choose each course from the existing menu!). Each course was better than the previous. The standouts were the shrimp bisque and filet. My husband selected the Ceasar salad and New York strip- perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious. The potatoes fried in truffle oil stole the show and he now has a new favorite food. Honestly, the food was better than some 4 star restaurants in the DMV area. The service was just right, attentive and helpful while not being intrusive. We are looking forward to a return trip in the fall and plan on staying at The Forks for the weekend.

My wife and I enjoyed The Forks for the first time to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The room was quaint with a cottage like feel. Everything was very neat and very clean and the view from the balcony was spectacular right after a rain. If you are able to stay I would highly recommend it. The restaurant had a comforting feel with a great ambiance. It felt really classy but not uptight and the background music was spot on. Our meal, appetizers, mains, and deserts, were all outstanding and the drinks were outstanding standing as well. Can’t speak highly enough of our waitress, she was so good. We enjoyed a great meal in a great environment and never once felt rushed and we just can’t quit talking about it. It’s about a 2.5 hour drive for us but we are already planning another visit, everything about it was truly that good.

If you are in Elkins this is the place. Relaxed environment with a view to kill and excellent food. Owners are on premise and it shows. You will not be disappointed
We had reservations for the Appalachian Chef’s Table. The food was delicious and was worth the visit. The atmosphere is rustic and quaint. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend it and will return again. We did not spend the night so I cannot rate the rooms.

The only place to go for a true fine dining experience in the Elkins area. The atmosphere, colors, lighting, music and overall ambiance was inviting and warm. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and had detailed knowledge of the menus. Checkins were timed perfectly! It was a rainy evening, but the views off the back deck were still amazing. The new seasonal tasting menu was very well thought out and put together. This is a fine dining restaurant, with fine dining prices. I believe the service, atmosphere and quality of food and drinks justifies the cost. Would highly recommend.

Great food, great stay, and close fishing&hiking
The food was well prepared and delightful to taste. Honestly though, you really just got a taste. I’ve been to many fine dining restaurants and left feeling satisfied and full. That wasn’t the case here unfortunately. We wanted to share the smoked salmon appetizer that was $25 and we both were able to have maybe two or three bites a piece. After dropping over $180 dollars, I was really disappointed in what we received. We definitely wouldn’t return to this restaurant for fine dining.
