Took my friend here to taste! I was just the DD! Lol. The owner was very nice and informative. She tons of information and was personable! Support a small business, try some mead, take a tour! Great little place! Cool Fairmont has a business like this.

If you find yourself, in Fairmont, West Virginia or visiting in town , this place is worth the stop. I had purchased a Groupon for mead tasting for a reasonable price: included 8 tastings, two free glasses, and a tour of the facility. Something low key to do, after arriving and driving all day. Ruthann, and her husband were equally knowledge on their mead wines, the honey history and how their business came to flourish. Don't be alarmed if you arrive in the earlier evening, and see no cars in their lot. The owners provide a number to contact, on the door and arrive shortly after if the place is locked. The tour, and explanation of the portion/ratio of honey to mead, and history of the building it sits in was fasacinating. Before being a meadary, the building history dates back to the 1930's. A true, hidden gem of a find for this southern hospitality area of West Virginia.

You can taste all honey meads with a keepsake stemless glass for $8! We learned all about the history, how the meads made and even received a quick tour. The owners were so nice and interesting we hung out and chatted with them for awhile. Best girls night! My favorites were the wildflower and black cherry!

I received a tour and tasting for two for my birthday and honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better gift!! I was able to schedule an appointment for my boyfriend and myself, which made for such a wonderfully intimate experience. Ruth Anne gave us an awesome tour, swapped stories with us, and made us feel so welcome. Ruthie's Rhodomel Methyglyn was our favorite (We even bought a bottle to take home!) and we love the story of its rarity. We both agreed that we'll definitely be returning for another tasting and bringing our friends!!

Went today for the first time, I loved all the wines (9 different flavors), most of them were below 12% of alcohol which is great (in my opinion) not too strong. The owners were so sweet and great people to have a conversation with, Definitely going back to have some good local wine.

Ok this place was fun visit. The owner's were super nice & accommodating; the mead was tasty. Stop by; it a good time.
We were in Fairmont to celebrate one of the sisters 60th birthday. While setting up the lodging arrangements I looked for something to do on her birthday. Came across the winery website and knew we had to check it out.The owners were really sweet, working with me around the uncooperative weather. We pushed forward our date and time for the tasting and tour twice! Finally made it in and very glad we did. Excellent experience, knowledgeable crafts people and tastes great too!A Must see and do!

Super friendly folks that truly have a passion for making mead. The tour was great and they were so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The mead was tasty and they they have a large variety to sample so you can really experience the difference in the peasant meads. Definitely worth the trip!
