Recently got take out, part sushi part from the Chinese menu. Was excited to find a place that served both. The meals we ordered were good. The issue for me came with the sushi. I get take out sushi from 3 places more local to me and their tempura sushi has no spicy mayo inside or on top of the rolls. Just eel sauce. The website description does not mention spicy mayo but all 6( yes 6) rolls had spicy mayo inside. Was unexpected and when I reached out on social media they never responded.

The owner has always been absolutely wonderful and loving each time I or my husband come. The owner knows I can only handle very little food but my childhood favorite from a neighbor who owned Chins restaurant in Cleveland Ohio would always make me won ton soup when I was sick and the grandma would feed it to me and always helped. Red lantern is the only place that has made it exactly how I remember and I've never experienced bad food or service and I highly recommend them. I would suggest those leaving bad reviews, instead you need to bring it to their attention at that time and they will always make it right. I love this place and how caring and loving they are each time we order or my husband comes in.

My husband kept on saying that the meat in the pepper steak didn’t taste like it was done. I thought maybe it was him after several bites of my beef and broccoli I got a piece of beef that tasted way off compare to the other

Just ordered food and sadly almost swallowed this plastic/styrofoam sauce cap. DoorDash was very respectful about the issue.

Initial experience: Enjoyed the food; asked for a minor substitution, and no resistance or extra charge; will return for the chicken curry.
Last experience: For lunch platter, they refused to let me substitute some extra rice for soup/egg roll; to make it clear, I didn't want the soup or egg roll. The story was that my first experience was a one time thing. They did the right, decent thing the first time, and for some strange reason, it couldn't be repeated?!?
Manager was expressionless and couldn't even communicate with me - a total lack of concern, reason or learning. I doubt that a little extra rice even costs them more; but even if it does, all she could see was the extra nickel or dime.
Friends and I would've bought a lot of food there - and so might have other people who are seeing this review. I hope the ownership will read this review, and realize that she's a poor representative, assuming the ownership has any vision and sense of fairness.
There are thousands of other restaurants, who appreciate their customers, to choose from.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant! My favorite dish is the General Tso's Chicken, sweet and spicy!

My experience at Red Lantern a few nights ago was beyond disappointing, from the terrible service to the subpar food. The manager, who seemed like a psychotic control freak, she made the whole dining experience unbearable. Multiple customers, including myself, could see her freaking out and yelling at staff in full view of everyone. It was incredibly uncomfortable and chaotic, clearly a reflection of how poorly this place is run. The food was just as bad, everything was drenched in oil and coated with a bland brown sauce that made every dish taste the same. The egg rolls were tasteless, with a baby shrimp cut in half. For a restaurant that charges extra for everything, the portions were laughably small. I paid an extra $8 for additional meats and vegetables in my dish, but what I received barely amounted to $2 worth. It’s obvious this restaurant is just trying to squeeze every penny from their customers while delivering as little as possible. The manager has no issue charging customers extra and delivering less than what’s paid for, but you can bet they won’t let you be a cent short when it comes to the bill. The stinginess and lack of customer service here are appalling. Whoever is running the show now clearly has no idea what theyre doing and is running the place just milking their clueless customers. It’s obvious this business thrives on taking advantage of clueless customers who have never really experienced good food. The only good thing I’ll say about this place is that they have Japanese bottled soda which is hard to find around these areas but then again I can order that online and save myself a disappointing experience. Other than that, it’s a complete dung show

My family's favorite takeout spot. We're picky when it comes to Chinese food and sushi, and it's rare to find a restaurant that does both well.. but Red Lantern does. Food is delicious, staff is courteous and everything always comes out on time and correct. We eat here weekly.

Last time I was there for a pick up they charged my credit card 2x and the only reason I looked at my bank was because I saw the guy poke one receipt but not the one I signed and they never told me they messed up. Then ordered donuts no sugar on them and got general cho and tasted horrible. Not ordering again. I usually do food at china 88 and sushi at red lantern

Placed an online order, Egg rolls & Spicey Kung Pao chicken.
Chicken was chewy & bland. Did not experience any heat, ( 5 spice powder, Chili oil or Sichuan pepper )
Our 3rd visit here and still haven't tasted the house hot mustard that we paid extra for... didn't even receive the standard mustard sauce packets.
In their defense, store was not busy, but had many takeout orders.
Yes, our order was only $32, but still... ugh
Nothing but a basic atmosphere of a restaurant, waitress was to busy talking to the sushi chef. Had to wave her down for napkins and a togo box , we where the only ones in there. Waitress could no recommend sushi or dishes.

Although I love the sweet and sour chicken... Normally. Me and my husband always have to order 2 sweet and sour chicken when normally 1 would be plenty for the 2 of us but 80% time, we only get a handful of peices that are edible... So hard and overcooked. Tonight, I grabbed just 1 because I wasn't too hungry myself and STILL GOTTA MAKE THE HUBBY SOMETHING BECAUSE I GOT THERE 15 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING AND CAN'T GET IT REPLACED due to closing BECAUSE I LEGIT HAVE ABOUT 5 PEICES THAT ARE EDIBLE. WTH RED LANTERN. They will hear from me in the morning.
