WanderLust is just objectively amazing, nevermind that it's nestled in a small town like Fayetteville. The front staff and the kitchen all work extremely hard to ensure you have a delicious meal and it's apparent in the quality of food, the dishes and menu, and when they stop by to chat. We had the naan dumplings, lamb burger, pork belly, and chicken dish. All of them were absolutely delicious. We will be back!!!

One of the most memorable meals I’ve had. This unassuming restaurant is situated near the main intersection in Fayetteville, next to a shuttered Ben Franklin. Grab a menu and a seat. Head to the counter when you’re ready to order. Then wait for the magic happening in the kitchen. They serve an handful of dishes from around the world and do it exceptionally well. (This is not fusion cuisine, as other reviewers have suggested.) Over two nights (it was so good we returned the next night), our family had the pork belly, penne alla vodka, and chicken tikka masala. The chicken practically melted in our mouths. The penne alla vodka is served with prosciutto and is deliciously smoky. (They’ll change up the proteins for you, but I don’t know why you’d mess with perfection.) But the pork belly. I’ve had some amazing meals at some top tier restaurants, but there have been just a few individual dishes that have stuck with me. This is one of them. And it is primarily due to the carrot puree. Silky smooth and perfectly seasoned, the only thing that might make it better is dipping the roasted Brussel sprouts in it. I’m a little over Brussel sprouts on so many menus these days, but I’m glad that didn’t deter me from trying these. They’ll bring you a spoon so you won’t miss a drop of the purée, and you’ll happily grab it. The front of house staff and chef are delightful. When we shared how much I loved the carrot puree, the chef brought me a to-go container of it. He obviously loves to make people happy with his food. As a bonus, we paid far less for this food than we would have in a major city. If we’re anywhere near Fayetteville again, we will certainly be dining at Wanderlust.

Excellent food. Loved it so much we went two nights in a row. Add shrimp to the beet salad for an incredible taste.

It is not very often that I am blown away by a restaurant…..ESPECIALLY in Fayetteville WV! Wanderlust provided cuisine that you feel with every bite! It’s hard to explain it but I actually felt excited each time I brought the fork to my mouth! I started with Mussels Vin Blanc! They were delicately steamed in a velvety white wine and cream sauce mixed with shrimp stock with Prosciutto! I was hesitant to take the suggestion of making them “Diablo” style….but instead of an inferno each bite was heavenly!!! For my entree I ordered the Pork belly. Mind you the presentation on these dishes were superb and definitely photoshoot worthy (see photos), It was the excellent pairing of succulent Berkshire pork belly drizzled with a Pork Demi, Basmati rice, Brussels sprouts and a carrot puree that tied everything together as if they were related. My mouth was sad when I came to the end of these gracious portions! If you are ever passing through you need to stop at this hidden gem!!! The local artwork on the wall also made the decor intriguing and very explorable!

I recently hosted a surprise birthday party at Wanderlust. Michael and his team provided an exceptional experience. The service was attentive. The staff were friendly. And the food. The food is always top-notch. It is easily some of the best in the state. The lamb burger and fish n' chips special were particular favorites of this group. The chefs even offered to make donuts! Everything we discussed in the planning stages is exactly what was implemented the day of the party. They were also very accommodating of small children and several adults with dietary restrictions. Event planning or not, be sure to stop in for dinner one evening. You will not be disappointed. Thanks, Michael!

Lamb burger was so good we came back two nights in a row. Generous portions of everything at a reasonable price point - the beet salad was a bang for your buck! The staff is sweet and ingredients are fresh and made with a whole lotta love. Don’t miss this place

I've been through A LOT of towns the size of Fayetteville across America with different versions of this restaurant: eclectic globally-inspired food in a small but charming atmosphere. This punches above its weight class. Really and truly, I recommend.

Very unassuming spot in the little town of Fayetteville. Staff was so helpful with our selections and they genuinely love working and eating there. Our dishes were interesting and delicious. Nice selection of beer and wine. Would highly recommend a meal heat if you are visiting the New River Gorge National Park or driving through West Virginia.

Can we say how surprised we were to find this restaurant in this town?!?! Loved the unique menu and delicious food. Not many tables and got right in. Super cool place!

this place is THE. VIBE. The food was indeed creative but not so creative you couldn’t take your fussy grandpa there. We adored the pork belly, naan dumplings, crispy brussels, pickled beets, all the sauces. And the atmosphere? Everything you love about a small town cafe (especially regulars having convivial run-ins) with added tone from artsy types, nature lovers returning from adventures, a mushroom forager, international travelers, all having a delightful and delicious time! Not sure if they have dessert (because we were so full). Loved it!
