Delicious sandwiches to fuel our bike ride on the canal trail. The BLT had a lot of crispy bacon and very fresh tomato and lettuce. Inside is small with limited seating but they have a lovely outdoor area with tables and umbrellas.

Visited back in August while enroute to Maine from Louisiana - To start it off, this was probably the best iced coffee I had drank in years. While waiting on my sandwich to be made, I had already consumed maybe half of the IC, and I made the decision to get another for the road since it was so fantastic - but the incredible service at this establishment offered a free refill on my iced coffee (I've never had that offered anywhere else), and to beat the band the homemade sandwich ended up having some of the best bacon I've ever had. Maybe I was just really hungry when I visited here, but I truly think the food + service is some of the best I've found in my travels around the country. Love Harpers Ferry! Thanks for making the experience great.

We were traveling in Harpers Ferry & met some local residents who were so kind. They recommended that we visit Battle Grounds Bakery & Coffee for lunch after our museum visit. The sandwich that we ordered was so huge that we split it & both had a very nice portion. The taste was exceptional & the chocolate muffin we had as a dessert was marvelous. Very moist & rich. The owner was so very pleasant & there is plenty of umbrella shaded seating just out the front door. Highly recommend if you are in the area for breakfast or lunch. Thanks to the wonderful ladies that suggested we visit.
Great coffee!

A good place for a cup of coffee in Harpers Ferry
I recently visited Harpers Ferry with family. As with most trips we went in search of the history, the sights and a good cup of tea and coffee for the various members in the group. The town is part of the park service and most people park at the visitors center and take the shuttle bus into the town. There is a parking lot but quickly fills up because of the popularity. This shop is about a block and a half up high street from John Brown’s fort. Battle Grounds Bakery and Coffee is like an old time shop with the hand-painted sign outside to wood floor, brick entryway, and swinging screen door. It seemed a welcoming and friendly spot from the moment you walk in. The staff was friendly and helpful, at teh counter located near the back of the space. Several in our party ordered coffee and a few ordered tea. There were plenty of choices for our different tastes. You can get a simple drip coffee, a cold brew, or an espresso drink like a cappuccino or latte. All the drinks were made fresh. They also offer fresh breads, muffins, croissants, and cookies that is baked daily. If you happen to be in the area and want to get a good cup of coffee, then I would recommend that this is a good place to stop and get a caffeinated beverage of your choice. Enjoy it as you walk around the city and enjoy the town.

I had an amazing experience at this cozy little coffee and bakery shop! The coffee was outstanding, especially the blueberry-flavored coffee and the affogato—both were delicious. The shop itself is super cute and inviting, with a wide variety of drinks and food to choose from. Plus, there’s a charming gift shop inside, which adds a nice touch. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

Stopped by there today. We got a French toast muffin and a few other items. The nice lady running the register recommended she heat it up with some butter. We were going to pass but so glad we didn’t. Thanks for asking us if we were sure we didn’t want it heated. We didn’t know better and would have missed out. Thanks for being amazingly pleasant.

A tasty breakfast sandwich and juice. It was too chilly to sit outside, so we ate at the counter.
In addition to coffee, they offer a variety of bakery items, lunch sandwiches and salads along with ice cream.
They do close at 5. Parking in Harpers Ferry is very limited, with some pay parking near the train station.
