A few years ago, my kids and I stumbled upon The Rabbit Hole in Harpers Ferry—and we instantly loved it. On our next visit, we brought my wife along, and she was just as impressed. Fast forward to this past Saturday: we returned as a family, and once again, the experience was fantastic. My daughter and I ordered the steak subs, which were flavorful and perfectly cooked. My wife and son went for the burgers—huge, juicy, and thoroughly enjoyed. Even our 18-month-old got in on the action with a hot dog that passed the toddler taste test. The local beers on tap were excellent, adding a nice touch to the meal. Between the friendly service, prime location, the charm of watching trains roll by, and consistently great food, The Rabbit Hole is a gem. Whenever we’re in the area, it’s at the top of our list.
The restaurant overlooks the train station. While we were dining, two freight trains came through. It was a busy day since it was Sunday evening, and it was the only restaurant open. It was also my 66th birthday. Surprisingly, the staff came in with a cheesecake as my birthday cake. That was very nice of them. Patrons and staff sang 'Happy Birthday' while I blew out the candle.

I had the Appalachian bbq sandwich and honestly. It’s one of the best I’ve ever had, the fries were great too.

Food was not prepared well, service was very slow. The outdoor seating is really nice with the views.

Last time I was here it was great, but when I visited on August 18th it made me walk out. I arrived around 6pm and was seated inside instantly, after 20 minutes of no wait staff coming by I left. Wait staff seemed preoccupied talking amongst themselves. Even though the atmosphere is great, just call in your order if you're coming here because it's not worth the wait otherwise.

This is a popular restaurant/bar in town and justifiably so. Everything we ordered was tasty and well priced. Drink selection was varied with nice local brews available. Service was friendly and attentive. Dog friendly patio. And the indoor bar/restaurant had a very cool and quirky vibe. It is popular and can get very busy. So be l patient if you happen to go on a busy day.
This is a five star rating, not because it's a five star Michelin restaurant, but because what they do and what they have they do well and we had zero complaints.

Restaurantji Recommends
Extremely rude and unprofessional service. We came to this restaurant and, despite empty tables, we were told to wait. While we were waiting inside, the hostess abruptly told us to “go stand outside,” even though there was plenty of space. Her tone and attitude were shockingly unpleasant. This is not how paying customers should be treated. Completely unacceptable behavior—I will never return and would not recommend this place to anyone.
Update: On August 10th at 5:50 PM, this happened at the front reception by the person on duty.

The deck seating is really nice, the food options were a little lackluster but the food was surprisingly excellent. The whole 'cbd infused' cliché hipster stuff was lame, but the food was good.
The bbq sandwhich was a bit dry, but the short rib poutine was really good. The watermelon margherita was also really good. The home made hummus (i think it was home made) was really good too.
The cheessteak looked pretty amazing. I saw a waitress carrying it to another table
