My wife and I decided to try Gumbo Stop on Valentines Day 2025 and we were glad we did. Part of my life was living on the Ms Gulf Coast (Waveland and Bay St. Louis). We often visted a fish camp on the bayou that cooked gumbo and red beans and rice. Gumbo Stop gumbo brought back the flavors I remembered. I could taste the flavor of thyme and bay leaves and the roux had good color and flavor. I also had shrimp po’ boy that tasted so good. The shrimp was cooked perfect and plenty of it. The 2 ladies working were very friendly even though they were trying to get a lot of orders out. Thank you and we will visit again.

Such a great establishment. The food was out of this world and the atmosphere was a delight. We had the sampler that came with Étouffée, jambalaya, gumbo and red beans. Literally so good. A West Virginia hidden gem that’s for sure.
