I came for a DoorDash order, and the employees were just at the beginning steps of making the order. The store was absolutely empty, yet the order was just being started. Whilst prepping my order, new customers came in and ordered, the staff stop making my order and then prepped the new couples order to completion before returning to mine. I understand that dine-in is important, but to entirely stop making a DoorDash is absurd. That is a paying customer as well. I waited nearly 15 minutes for my order after I arrived.

It is a small place. only 3 or 4 tables if I remember. But ! plenty of seating outside. Aim for non rush hours if you can. but Good unique food. It is my daughters favorite.

My family and I had the boudin, cheesy crawfish bread, shrimp etouffee, catfish etouffee, shrimp po boy, and then Kentucky butter cake for dessert. It was absolutely fantastic. The owners were amazing, food was astounding, and we absolutely cannot wait to go back!

My wife and I decided to try Gumbo Stop on Valentines Day 2025 and we were glad we did. Part of my life was living on the Ms Gulf Coast (Waveland and Bay St. Louis). We often visted a fish camp on the bayou that cooked gumbo and red beans and rice. Gumbo Stop gumbo brought back the flavors I remembered. I could taste the flavor of thyme and bay leaves and the roux had good color and flavor. I also had shrimp po’ boy that tasted so good. The shrimp was cooked perfect and plenty of it. The 2 ladies working were very friendly even though they were trying to get a lot of orders out. Thank you and we will visit again.
