On Tuesday, October 14th, around 3:10pm, my father and myself discovered raw chicken sitting out on the bar in Takaya Buffet on Route 60. The raw chicken was not covered with a lid. It was sitting out on the bar right next to other food items, with the spoon pointed towards the customer walkway, implying that it was ready to eat food. There was no indication or label indicating that the chicken was raw. My father asked the cook if that meat was raw chicken. The cook affirmed that it was, and instructed him to not eat it. His concerns about food safety were ignored. When I spoke with, what I presume is a manager, a caucasian woman with brunette hair, I asked her if it was raw chicken. She affirmed that it was. I warned her that it’s a health safety violation to keep raw chicken exposed on the food bar. I asked her: “What happens if a child walks by, sees the raw chicken and thinks it’s an Asian dish that is fresh to eat, gets curious, eats it, and then gets sick?” The presumed manager responded: “Well, that’s just part of eating at a buffet.” I responded with: “Yeah buffets may have some more microbes spreading around, but salmonella is a whole different ball game.” She stated that she would take care of the problem. I waited for 20 minutes at my table, and the problem was still yet to be taken care of. This recollection of events was written at 3:45pm on 10/14/25. Photo and video evidence provided. Video captured at 3:20pm. First pic (with covered unrelated meat sitting out) captured at 3:22pm. Second pic captured at 3:40pm.

This is a new place that replaced what used to be Golden Corral.... I've been meaning to try this place out for a while.. and I must say. It is very nice inside and the food was really good.. I tried a lot of the different things that were on the buffet.. and there was still so much more to try.. looks like I'm going to have to make a second trip out here again before too long.. plenty of parking. Reasonable cost for a Asian buffet...You will get nice and full.. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Great place to eat, plenty of seats. Very good waitress and staff. Only thing I saw that could be fixed was the aisle to the fruit section..there was a man in a wheelchair tried to go between the wall and the buffet but there was a shelf holding the plates and he couldn't go through. I offered help to which he refused. But overall the quality for the price was excellent.

Buffet itself is average with Asian cuisine as it's base. The star of the show is the assemble yourself hibachi. Place your favorite ingredients and a few minutes later they bring you a delicious hot meal. Very good.
On the down side the restrooms have a bad pong to them. Service was fair and prices are very good.

We have never had a bad experience at Takaya Huntington until today. We found hairs on two separate food items on the same plate. The hairs were two-tone in color and on the “fresh” fruit. It was the cantaloupe and banana. When we told our waitress, she promptly took our food and told the person working the fruit bar to pull and look into it. She took it to the hostess/manager who basically shrugged it away. When we went to pay, we asked if there’s any compensation available for the hair because it was off-putting, and we stopped eating our meal after. He stated that it did not come from any of his employees. I asked how he knew for sure none of his employees are wearing hair nets and he said that they were all wearing caps. We just paid and then left. I believe a more professional response and not going full defensive would have been the right move from the heads of the establishment. We will not be returning .
