I am extremely disappointed with the service we received at this restaurant. My boyfriend and I had planned a special date night—he surprised me with a comedy show followed by dinner—which unfortunately was completely derailed due to the restaurant’s lack of organization and poor service.

My boyfriend made a reservation over a week in advance for 5:30 PM, with our show starting at 7:00 PM. This should have provided more than enough time to enjoy dinner. We arrived a few minutes early, only to be told by the hostess that we would need to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated because walk-in guests were being seated before those with reservations. This defeats the entire purpose of making a reservation and is something I have never experienced before.

While waiting, we were directed to sit at the bar. Despite the bar not being busy and having four bartenders present, it took over 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us or ask for our drink order.

Once we were finally seated at our table, another 15 minutes passed before our waitress came by to bring water. At that point, she immediately informed us that we needed to place our order right away because the kitchen was backed up. We placed both our appetizer and dinner orders, but after waiting some time, we were told it would be at least another 45 minutes before our food arrived—meaning we would miss our 7:00 PM show.

As a result, we were forced to cancel our food order and attend the show without dinner. What should have been an enjoyable and well-planned evening was completely ruined due to the restaurant’s disorganization and lack of urgency.

To make matters worse, a manager never came by to apologize or acknowledge the situation. There was no attempt to make things right—not even an offer to take care of the small bill we incurred for two side salads and a drink.

This restaurant claims to hold itself to high standards, but our experience fell far below even the most basic expectations of service and hospitality. We will absolutely not be returning, and I would not recommend this restaurant to others.

My husband and I went here for dinner before a show downtown last night (a Sunday). Many other restaurants were closed but this one took reservations which is why we chose it. When we arrived at 5:15 and by 6:40 we still did not have food. Other people around us also attending the show voiced they got there even earlier and also had no food. We heard an owner or manager mention to someone he didn’t know there was an event going on downtown. To make it on time, we had to leave without eating. My husband left his jacket and when he returned multiple employees were yelling and fighting in the lobby in front of customers.
The restaurant should have known there was an event going on and realized there was an uptick in reservations and been prepared. But the fighting employees is unacceptable and frankly embarrassing, especially since many people from out of town came to attend the event. I can’t say how the food is but I don’t think we will ever return to this restaurant.

The restaurant has a good atmosphere with decent menu options. Although our experience was terrible and lacking. From the time that we were seated there was no greeting and had to wait over 15 minutes before a waiter came to our table. We finally got an order in and after 10 minutes we were told that they don’t have what was on the menu. We waited over 1 hour for our food. When the food was brought we were missing a side from our order. The staff barely helped any of the tables near us with one even leaving because of the staff not visiting tables. From a business that is offering a fancy dining option at over $30 a plate this is unacceptable.

I made a reservation a full week in advance for 5:30 PM at The Grill on Third, a restaurant that presents itself as upscale and professional. My girlfriend and I arrived early at 5:25 PM because we had a scheduled comedy show afterward and needed to be on time. Despite having a confirmed reservation, we were told there were no tables available and that the restaurant was running a 30 to 45 minute wait because they had seated walk in guests ahead of reserved diners. At a restaurant of this caliber, that alone is unacceptable.

We were forced to sit at the bar while waiting for the table we should have had at 5:30. Once seated at the bar, we waited another 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us or asked what we wanted to drink. After finally receiving our first drink, we were eventually escorted to a table. From the moment we sat down, it took an additional 15 minutes for our server to greet us. At this point, the evening was already far behind schedule.

We placed our full order immediately at the server’s request to “get the food in,” yet our salads did not arrive until roughly 15 minutes later. By 6:45 PM, we still had not received our entrées. When I finally asked how much longer the food would take, I was told it would be at least another hour. That timeline is completely unreasonable, especially given that our reservation was for 5:30 and a standard dinner service should not exceed an hour under normal circumstances.

Because we had an event to attend, we were forced to leave without ever receiving our meals. Despite the excessive delays, the lack of communication, and the clear operational failure, nothing was comped. Not a drink. Not the salads. Not even an apology from management. In fact, no member of management ever came to speak with us at all.

This experience was deeply disappointing, particularly because I previously worked at this restaurant and expected far better. What was once a place that valued service and professionalism now appears disorganized, inattentive, and indifferent to the guest experience. I will not be returning, and it is genuinely sad to say that a restaurant I once respected has fallen so far below the standard it claims to uphold

Great food and service. They offer a few premium wines that you can get by the glass at a really good price. Definitely recommend this place!

My husband and I decided to try The Grill on Third for our NYE dinner. The atmosphere was lovely and comfortable. It is clear the restaurant is trying to be a high-end establishment for the area. However, some things need to be improved. For example, the servers need to be trained much better. Ours was polite and friendly, but clearly had no knowledge about the menu. When she read the specials, she did not know what risotto, beef tenderloin, or gorgonzola were - and couldn't answer any questions about the menu item. We both ended up ordering steak, medium rare. Both came out well-done. It was still tasty, but definitely not worth the price. Lastly, the menus are flimsy and cheap looking. You would never expect the high priced menu items to be displayed on such an inexpensive looking piece of paper. Seems to be a simple fix if the staff and owners really wanted to make this place appear to be more than just a casual steak join (which the prices certainly reflect!). I expected much more. I'm not sure that I'll be back.

Enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner. Our first visit to this restaurant. Our server, Kirstyn (spelling?) was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant was warm and inviting, tables comfortable and private. There is another fine dining restaurant in town with excellent food but almost impossible to hold a conversation because of the noise level. My petite filet mignon was perfectly medium rare, chilean sea bass and scallops were both excellent. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I both ordered the NY strip steak - supposedly prime beef. Don't think so! Half of my steak was full of fat and grissle. Plus, they put some kind of weird coating on the steak to serve it. I didn't care for that at all! The overall flavor of the steak was just average at best - nothing over the top as one ought to expect. Additionally, neither steak was cooked to order. My husband's should have been rare. It was overcooked. Mine should have been medium well. It was pink.
When we were seated, we were given lunch menus, not dinner menus, and had to ask for the correct menus, plus the cocktail list. Our server was pleasant, but did not go out of her way to perform any more tasks than were absolutely required of her.
The music being played was twangy country Christmas. Not everyone's taste. Instrumental may have been better.
Overall, having expected a wonderful dining experience for our anniversary, we were gravely disappointed and most likely will not return.
We probably would have been happier going to Longhorn.
I would not recommend this restaurant.

I have eaten here twice. First was a takeout order, I had the burger. It was very good. So the second time I dined in with a colleague and the steak was fantastic. The desert was very good as well. Service was top-notch. All around, great dining experience and great food.
