Nice place on the inside. And food tastes decent. Great fries, good ranch. Good honey mustard! Crab dip, however was disappointing. In my opinion, Monroe’s a few minutes a way is a better choice for dinner. Also, this place is expensive. Pizza here is decent. Quesadillas here are decent too. Nothing crazy good though. Worth trying but not crazy impressive to me. I’ve ate here both dine in and takeout before.

I.
Would drive to Morgantown to get fish-and-chips. I don't know anything about what else they have, but the price can't steer me away from anything else. Put more money into your food, not your decorations.

Food was great as always (we've eaten here numerous times since their opening), but the last several visits to this establishment we had poor service. The waitresses never smiled & basically made us feel very unwelcome (most times it was just my husband & I out for a date).
Our trip just last Friday the waitress didn't write anything down & completely forgot our appetizer. She never came back to see if we would like more drinks, and told us to meet her at the register to pay our bill, but never actually gave us a bill to review until we asked to see one (to make sure we weren't charged for the appetizer). The one time we went there with our daughter & young grandson, we too were put behind the "wall of shame" and waited a half-hour for someone to even come take our drink order. Our grandson was being good & watching YouTube videos the whole time & not being disruptive in any way. We almost didn't return after that incident, but the food was so good we tried a few more times & got treated pretty much the same way. After last Friday, it is doubtful we will return.

The Hitching Post Steakhouse in West Virginia is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the entire state. The food is absolutely incredible—our appetizers were fresh and delicious, setting the tone for an unforgettable meal. The steak was cooked to perfection, and every bite was full of flavor. The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere is so welcoming. If you’re looking for a place that offers great food with a cozy, friendly vibe, this is it. 10/10 recommend!ā€

Came for my birthday dinner. Got seated in the far corner next to the restroom far away from everyone else I guess because we had kids? Plenty of other available tables. Reading previous reviews it’s very clear families with kids aren’t welcome. They get asked to leave or get seated as far away as possible like us. It’s really bizarre and ackward to have a table set up that way in a corner next to the restroom on its own where we’re just facing the front desk looking at grumpy waitresses.

This could be a five star business if you got rid of the ackward table, made it clear that no kids are allowed which is perfectly legal and would’ve been preferred over being treated like second class citizens, and just give everyone a training on customer service (greet the customer with a smile, say welcome to the hitching post, and pretend like you want to be there or just find people that can do this in general even if you have to pay a little more and cut back the employees that aren’t willing to come to work with a good attitude)

This is really basic small business stuff that can be easily fixed. So just fix it! It’s a one hour customer service meeting. Anyone that doesn’t want to smile on the job needs to go. Pay just a little bit more to get a better employee with a better attitude and make the employees compete a little more. The best ones get the hours and the pay bumps and The ones that aren’t performing need to be cut back. I’m sure you all are doing ok but your results and sales will improve with a few basic adjustments (assuming that’s the goal).

We were asked to leave because my almost 2year old was being too loud he was happy! It was very upsetting we were there meeting family that lives far away that we barely see! The waitress's exact words were "those men over there all ordered steak dinners and they're upset by your son" so because they all ordered steak dinners and we had a mixture of foods We weren't as good as they were, and we were made to leave!!! I was very disappointed in the service!!!

Kid-friendliness: No not very kid friendly I thought this was a family restaurant!!!

I just discovered Kingwood has THIS?! 🤯 I mean, the decor is on point, the game room is lit, and the bar area? šŸ» I was in awe, man! The kiddo had her usual Alfredo, while I went for the Reuben, which was pure šŸ”„, and the Jellyjolly Rancher cocktail? šŸ¹ It was a work of art! I'll def be back for more laughs and good food in Preston County, WV! šŸ˜„

I was having dinner with family and friends, including my 21 month old grandson. The food and service was good. My grandson was making some squealing noises, which my daughter and I both were working with him to keep him quiet. We was confronted by management that we may need to take my grandson out because others were complaining about the noise. We was also told that these people ordered steak dinners. There was also steak dinners ordered at our table. I thought this place is supposed to be a family restaurant. I was very disappointed with that. I'm sure other places would would welcome our business.
