I ordered lunch — a chili relleno with beans and rice with a tamale on the side. I am 62 years old and have never been asked “Do you want that American or Mexican?” That was the first indicator that this was not going to be what I grew up eating in California. It was not. Let me preface this by saying I NEVER leave reviews. Since Carlito's moved into the new building the service has been steadily going downhill. Our once favorite restaurant has turned into a place we rarely visit. Tonight was the final straw and we will not be back. We sat at the table for over 20 minutes before our drink orders were taken. Had Tacos, came quickley and with a smile. Had pleanty of meat filling and the hot sauce was great. Would go back to try other things on the menu. Wish they had a taco salad.
