Wonderful dining experience with delicious Italian food and wonderful staff. I recommend the chicken Parma Sean but salads are great too! The staff was super attentive despite being busy. Quick to deliver foods and drinks and a great historic interior.

We were going to try The Humble Tomatoe today just before noon. I have bad knees, have trouble with stairs, and use a cane a lot of time. Upon climbing stairs in order to get to the door, we were asked to go up several more stairs to get to a table without a reservation. We told the host of my disability. She checked and told us there was none available on the first floor. Then we walked past open tables as we left. I suppose they we for people with reservations. We didn't know that was requirement. Thus place is definitely not handicap accessible.

Some real thought has gone I to this food.Stopped in because we wanted more than fast food on our vacation road trip, and can't more happy with our choice. The staff is welcoming and cheery. And the food is amazing. There's some real thought in this food. It's not just budget Italian. Frsh ingredients stand out. The seasoning is intentional and everything goes well together, both in pairing and contrast.Don't pass this place by.

A little too much garlic for my liking. From what I understand, this restaurant would excite any HR manager. Manager employee relations, on the clock, off the clock I’ve even heard when the store is closed.. favoritism based on certain out of work relationships. Highly unprofessional.

Went for lunch and it was busy but not crowded. Hostess sat us at the bar even though we passed empty tables however we understood. It is a small bar and we were eating lunch and sitting at the corner so we could still talk. There was another couple at the far end also eating lunch and an individual at the other end so plenty of room. Hostess then asked us to move over as another couple wanted to sit at the bar (turned out they were just having drinks and they were physically too close). When I pointed out someone was sitting there she said it was an employee and removed his plate. We moved over although it was quite crowded and the bar tender was overwhelmed. Our appetizer was cold when it finally arrived. A couple seated at a table behind us left and when the hostess cleaned the table I asked if we could move to the table. She said she had other to seat. I had a view of the door and there was no one waiting. Very rude. We were there another 45 minutes waiting for our main course (tasty but nothing special and cold). We finished eating in another 20 minutes. Over an hour went by and no one was seated at the table behind us. The bar tender did his best but it was uncomfortable. We did not get our salad or bread with the pasta course and refills were non-existent. When we left there was no one at the door and there were multiple free tables. The hostess was rude and condescending. Will not go back.

The only reason the atmosphere is missing a star is because Ben had to leave and he's the only one who knows how to light the fireplace. What's up, Ben?Kidding aside ... we had an excellent dinner with a great atmosphere and service at The Humble Tomato. The building (circa 1782) was quaint and cozy for a cold rainy Friday night ... if only Ben ... (sigh) salads and pasta were excellent.Visiting Lewisburg for the weekend and our first meal out did not disappoint.

The humble tomato was an amazing dine in experience, so many opinions on the menu and they're all enticing I didn't even know what to pick. My wife got the tomato soup and I got the meatball sandwich and I was so full but I couldn't stop eating. I loved it!

Very disappointed. Ordered chicken parm and it was burnt on the bottom. How does anyone even have respect for themselves sending it out. I scrapped off the bottom and just ate it due to the slow service. For $24 or $25 dollars just for a bland chicken parm is sad. Tables weren't being cleaned off around anyone at all. Had to ask for refills and the check along with others around us.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Virginia Beach. It is a little pricey ($70 with tip for our family of 4). Food was delicious, service was great and atmosphere was homey.

We decided to try a new place in Lewisburg. When we travel we ALWAYS look for local places to support when dining if possible and time allows. The atmosphere of the place was quaint and very inviting. Our waitress was very attentive to our requests. The menu options had great variety. We chose meatballs as an app, 10” pizza (8 small slices, which was plenty) and a Caesar salad. All of the food was delicious! The prices were very reasonable. We will be returning when in the area!
