Lost River General Store is a great little place to have in our community. They support local artists and products. The selection of items changes almost every time you go in so the shopping experience is never the same twice. They have a large selection of wines and ciders and other jarred/canned food goods like jams, jellies, and sauces. There is also a large selection of pop and other drinks for the road.

This place was beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. I was excited to try the coffee and pastries, especially because of all the great reviews. Sadly, we did not have that experience. When we walked in, we went over to the counter with all the options of coffee and food items. We asked about the options of coffee and I guess the employee just assumed we were talking about the inn. After we had asked about the coffee and food selection, they said that there was another building we probably missed, and brought us all the way to the inn. They led us to the inn and left as soon as we got inside. At this point we were already confused because the employee in the cafe never asked us exactly what we were wanting, so I’m not sure why they thought we were looking for the inn. We sat down and the employee working there told us how it worked but didn’t really explain much. They just told us it was several courses and whatever was on the menu that day. I kid you not, after everything was explained, the two employees and two people eating there left. It was almost comical. The two people sitting down eating their meal got quiet as soon as we were seated inside, stared at us, and left. Additionally, the two employees were no where to be found after they “explained” the menu. We ended up leaving because we were not sure if anyone would be back to take our orders. Quite frankly, we left because the whole experience felt weird and we didn’t want to eat somewhere that we felt unwelcome. I don’t know…maybe we came on a bad day. I’m glad everyone else seemed to have a great experience, but that was just not the case for us.

Quaint cool store. Gotta do ice cream, Lavender is a local fave.Coffee was also good. Jams, sauces, kitchen wares and local art and crafts stuff. Upstairs is some interesting antique stuff. The staff was great. Popular spot for cyclists rolling through.

Best experience I had in town. Michael, Patrick and their employees are very sweet and genuine. Had the chicken, bacon ranch panini and I think the Caesar salad was the best in the state!!! Would give them 10 stars if I could.

We stopped on Sat after Thanksgiving as we traveled from Charlottesville Va to Fairmont WV. The products were nice and good quality items. The food on the other hand left a lot to be desired. We ordered BBQ pork sandwich and nachos. The pork was sooo fatty that it was not palatable for us!! Total waste of our lunch!! We don’t complain, but instead don’t return unless for something other than food!
All personnel were friendly and nice.
The Pistachio chocolate chip cookie was AMAZING.
Lovely, quaint, with a nice variety of real food, snacks, drinks, trinkets, and local products
A favorite place, food and nostalgia to buy in one place.
This coffee shop is a true gem. The homemade food is absolutely delicious, and the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. Perfect for brunch/lunch! Additionally, they have beautiful and unique gifts. It’s definitely worth a stop!
