Just don’t go there. Food was horrible. I ate my plate because I was starving but my wife and daughter couldn’t do it. Like a lot of others on here I was recommended here by a local but that was an absolute one and done.

Great view, but all the tables were dirty we waited 45-55 min for our food...that was oddly overcooked and not. They didn't have burgers or half of their apps. I can understand food taking 45 min if all the tables were full...but they weren't...just dirty. We were recommended this restaurant by a local and I wouldn't recommend it to someone else.

Stopped for lunch. Food was mid. We had black and blu burgers. Burgers were dwarfed by the bun. Maybe 1/4 lb at best. Burger had no flavor or seasoning and the cheese was scarce bc of the size of the bun. For 9.50 I wanted a big & juicy mom and pops burger. Plus we added fries $2 and onion rings $3 and 2 drinks. Bill was over $30 with tip. If you want a burger go to DQ. 5/10. Won’t go back

Food and drinks: Probably hit or miss. We came on a mission day.

We have stopped to eat at this restaurant over the years. Always good food and service in the past. When we sat down the waitress told all the things they were out of. Well we just wanted dessert. Lucky for us 1 piece of cheesecake and 1 piece of pie were left. She served us but never gave us napkins. We finished and waited for the check. At this time another couple was standing near the register. They stood there for over 5 minutes. I got up and walked to the back where the kitchen was. I was yelling hello to get someone's attention but the radio was set pretty loud. Finally got the attention of the staff and our waitress came out. Apparently the staff were outside. Hate to say it but we won’t be stopping here anymore.

It's a shame when you come to a restaurant to spend your hard earned money on a dining experience only to be given a nasty attitude by your server. Was never greeted when we arrived. Took 15 minutes before a server took our drink order. She never said hi or even introduced herself for that matter. Another 10 minutes before we got our drinks that NEVER got refilled. No ice in the iced tea.

The food was absolutely disgusting and barely lukewarm. They were out of 5 or 6 main dinner items and understaffed. It took forever to get served and the food was nasty. There were parts of a country fried steak breading and burnt cheese of some sort on my steak and cheese sandwich and I didn't order a country fried steak. Baked potato very hard and undercooked. The dried up filth on top of EVERY hot sauce and ketchup bottle was a big turnoff. Do your job properly and clean the condiment bottles often.
Never could get the waitress to bring us any salt. Had to go to other tables to get it and every single salt shaker was empty. That does not happen during 1 shift...that is most likely days or weeks of neglect. Although this place is really cool being next to a river, I will NEVER come here again. Just because you hate your job or are having a bad night DOES NOT give you the right to treat a customer badly. I blame it all on bad management. 👎👎👎 absolutely and thoroughly disgusted with this dump of a restaurant.

We have had numerous meals here while in Marlinton. Everything is always fresh, most seems to be homemade, and staff is great! The baked steak and pizza are amazing and biscuits are amazing!

I booked a room at this lodge for marathon weekend. When we arrived, after a 5 hour drive, we were told we were not on the reservation list. After some searching, they found our reservation, sent us to our room, which was not cleaned from the previous visitors. We returned to the desk, asked for a clean room and were told they sent us to the wrong room and gave us a new room. We went to thatvroom and found it was also not cleaned. We returned to the desk yet again and were told they could not do anything because they couldnt get in touch with the manager. While we were waiting for them to contact the manager, i called every lodging option within an hour drive. Everything was booked solid due to the marathon. By the end of the evening, greenbrier lodge pretty much told us they cannot help us. Yet sometime after we settled in for the night in the car, they called back to say they just happened to find a room that is clean. At this point we declined. I would not recommend this lodge and will never attempt to book here again.

I've visited this restaurant several times over the past 15 years. It's definitely changed alot over those years. The food is good but not as it used to be. I think it's changed hands and that's why but not sure. Today, 9-29-24, we visited and ate here. I had the meatloaf with a baked potato and side salad with coffee. My husband had a Philly Cheese steak with curly fries and sweet tea. The food was decent other than my meatloaf was pink in the middle and my baked potato was cold but I ate it. My husband's sandwich was good but not much meat so it was alot of bread. Again it was good but could be better. Our waitress was nice but not very friendly at all. As always my favorite part of the visit is seeing and feeding the ducks. I didn't add any photos because I hate leaving negative reviews.

They were out of just about everything on the menu, they treated my Asian wife like it was a sundown town and she was in the wrong area. And the food they did have, it was really apparent why they still had it, not very good.

The waitress was extremely nice though.

Things started out so well and I had such high hopes. Beautiful views, adorable ducks, and the sweet tea was some of the best I've ever had.

Ten, twenty, forty minutes passed and still no food. Around the forty five minute mark, we were informed the kitchen lost HALF our ticket; my order was in but they couldn't remember or find the ticket for my girlfriend. Strange.

We waited for another half hour before the waitress arrived and delivered our food, not hot and fresh, but not cold, some weird mix of warmth in various stages. That was only the second time she had stopped, our first refill came almost a full hour after we got our drinks, and we did not see her again until it came time to leave which was, without a doubt, almost two hours later.

Food and drinks: The food was fine in terms of taste, nothing uniquely special but not bad in the slightest. I had ordered the salmon which was not fishy at all, in fact, it was probably one of the best non-meat dishes I've had in a long, long time.

Noteworthy details: The general atmosphere and area are pleasant. There's nothing like sitting above the water watching the birds and ducks go about their business, and with that in mind, bring some extra change to feed the local wildlife with, and bring a camera and a nice lens!
