The spirits were great, and our tasting guides were the very definition of southern hospitality. A must-stop for any whisky lover!

Am I ever glad I stopped at Smooth Ambler. Great whiskies, great service, and a free tasting. The only question was what to buy, because the various bottles had clearly distinctive flavor profiles, and none fell short of a top rank. Their offerings include blends (solely of whiskies from elsewhere or of a mix with their own, as well as their own product, which was what I chose. Yeah, I like going to Kentucky, too, but if you look good whiskey, don't pass over Greenbrier, W.Va., and Smooth Ambler.

First time to Smooth Ambler. Great experience, one of the best tours and tasting we have been to. Highly recommend visiting. Pat and Jill were so helpful .

What an incredible experience! The tour was so much fun as well as the tasting. Got to meet the founder, such a nice guy. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about their brand and the industry as a whole. We learned a lot and laughed a lot. Something you can keep coming back to do.

I love their entire line but Contradiction was the original I tried from SA. It is my go to regular bottle and I have introduced it to several of my friends who also love it. Get some. You won’t be sorry.

We visited the distillery for the first time today, and were so impressed! This was not our first rodeo when it comes to bourbon tasting, so we had a basic idea of what to expect. We did not expect such a cool souvenir guide book. We did not expect so many varieties to taste. And we were truly taken with the service and attention to detail - despite the room being very crowded when we first arrived! We’re already planning our return trip!

While driving through Southern West Virginia over the Easter holiday, my wife and I discovered a Bourbon distillery just outside of Lewisburg, WV. Not knowing much about Bourbon, as I primarily sip a dram or two of Scotch and Irish whiskey, we decided to stop in to take advantage of the tour and tasting that Smooth Ambler offered. It was fantastic! The tour guide was extremely personable and knowledgeable as he gave me a tour of their facility, and even allowed me to taste the yeast during fermentation! He also was extremely kind enough to answer all of my questions about the distillation process.

But, my favorite part was the tasting. My wife and I tried four or five different varieties of Smooth Ambler’s bourbon! They were all excellent, with the common denominator, being a nice spicy cinnamon flavor, with hints of caramel and vanilla. Maintaining some restraint, I was able to walk away with only one bottle of Old Scout! The Gift shop was also nice in that I really liked the glassware that was available for purchase.

But, most of all, we really enjoyed the staff at Smooth Ambler during our tasting! They were so relaxed and funny, that my wife immediately made a connection with them, and the next thing we knew - two hours of conversation had passed! It was awesome.

If you are meandering through the Lewisburg area, I highly recommend you stop by and see this little gem of a distillery!

We had a private tour with our jeep club friends! Beautiful facilities! Learned so much about the way the wood of the barrel affects the taste of the finished product. I tasted a little as I am not much of a drinker. I think it’s a great place to learn and taste. Super welcoming warm and friendly! We appreciate the opportunity to come and visit! I can’t wait to go back and buy my empty bourbon barrel!!!!
