I never wrote a bad review , But I want to inform everyone about this place. (I was there for a contracting job). Upon entering the front desk girl asked if she could help me and I responded give me just a moment I am waiting on someone and I sat down. The manager was on the phone with the girl and I over heard the manager tell her to tell me to leave “paying residence only”. (This pissed me off.) the girl then asked me again if I’m waiting on someone and I again said yes I here for an job and I’m waiting on someone that payed for the room. Long story short , the girl called the police on me because I was sitting in the lounge and she felt uncomfortable (I’m 20 and the least bit threatening and had a badge). We also prepaid for the rooms and they had no availability upon arrival . The place was gross , water dripping from ceiling , no breakfast ,WiFi and pool not working. Please go somewhere else you WILL regret going here.

Room and bed were comfortable and clean. Good water pressure in shower. It's being renovated so there was some clutter but it's to be understood. Renovation also closed the restaurant, bar and pool but we weren't there to swim and with Tom's Carryout in town with the best hot dogs ever and a Tudors Biscuit World nearby, we didn't mind the restaurant being closed. Staff was polite and helpful. We felt like we were the only ones there sometimes but still felt safe and secure.

Hotel was ok, staff were polite. Unfortunately, none of the advertised amenities were in service.

I am giving this two stars because the front desk was friendly, customer service in the end, and overall housekeeping (except sheer curtains that could've been easily washed). Definitely would not stay there again under current circumstances and in fact had to leave early. They were accommodating in that regard. Honestly it was just a depressing environment overall and in my humble opinion if they are renovating like reviews have said (which there were zero true signs of), they need to shut down and get it right. Hope they can get it together.

I recently reserved a number of rooms here for a family event. There are not many large hotel choices in the area and I found this to be the best of what was available. It is a very large hotel, originally built as a Holiday Inn. The lobby and other common areas are spacious and the breakfast room where we ate the included breakfast, is large, comfortable, clean and well kept. Although this hotel needs updating and renovation, we were told that it is under new ownership and this will be happening soon. It has the potential to be a grand place once it is done. What it does offer is a great location right off Route 19, exceptional cleanliness, a small, but extremely helpful and friendly staff and value with the nice size rooms generally going for less than $100 a night. Katie, the manager is devoted to the hotel, and is doing whatever she can to accommodate the wishes and needs of her guests. While this is certainly not a five star hotel, given the choices in the area, they are doing the best with what they have, and it is five star for the rustic NR Gorge area.Noteworthy details: All areas, rooms, and bathrooms were kept exceptionally clean. This property will need a substantial investment to make it modern but the staff hits a homer for what it can control, that is cleanliness and service.

We used the hotel to accommodate a large number of guests that were coming to our wedding. The place is large and spacious. It needs renovation but is very clean. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. They were willing to do whatever they could to help our guests. Katie who is the manager of the hotel was very good to work with. There are renovations going on and they could be overwhelming for Katie. The room we used for a hospitality room was excellent. The location of the hotel was very convenient. Hopefully they will continue to renovate and then the hotel will be a gem.

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding. The place is an absolute dump. No black out curtains. The shear curtains that were there were ripped. No stuffing in the furniture. Place was run down, old and felt dirty. It looks like nothing has been done to the property since 1967.The staff were very nice and helpful.

The only reason we decided to stay here is because they allow pets. Internet service was down, ice machine was broken, and the pool was out of commission. None of this was mentioned when I booked our room over the phone. The breakfast was a joke and they were out of milk the entire weekend. Eggs, biscuits, and sausage gravy were extremely low quality, and who knows how long that cereal had been sitting out there. Pretty sure the thermostat in our room had no idea what temperature the room was, and I highly recommend bringing your own pillow as theirs seemed to be a good size for a small child. Thankfully it was only a 15 minute drive to excellent restaurants and unforgettable trails with views of New River and the bridge. In these situations I usually say, "you get what you paid for" but they were charging $135 a night including tax, but that does not include the pet fee. Use Airbnb and book well in advance, or look into the next town over.

This is a nice hotel, the staff was very friendly. They also let us know there was a lot of construction during the day due to them renovating the whole place. The rooms were clean and fully stocked with towels and soaps. The bed was comfortable, and the room was a nice size. The free breakfast was good, they had sausage, eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, and French toast. Along with cereal, bagels, and a few other standard things. They also had coffee, orange juice, hot water, and apple juice. There was no wifi during our stay (in their defense, they are currently undergoing extensive renovation right now).Next year when we come back through, we would definitely stay again.

This place is in serious need of a remodel. There are out-of- order signs everywhere. Restaurant, pool, wifi (right, no wifi!), come machine, it's all broken. A notice in the room said they were under renovation, but I didn't see any construction happening. On top of that it isn't managed well. Ran out of food for their breakfast (no milk for cereal, no plates for the eggs, etc.) This, of course, leads to clientele you don't want. We saw a guests dog openly urinate in the lobby. Inside the lobby. And the guest just walked away. It was disgusting. Why did we stay there? We booked a last minute trip over a holiday weekend to the nearby national park, and needed somewhere to stay. We didn't have many choices. Before you reserve a room here call and ask about the wifi and how the reno is going. If it's not done, go somewhere else.

Lights in our bathroom don’t work consistently. Tiny pillows. Floor level room has curtains that don’t close. Elevators are out of order.Ice machine out of order.Of course none of this is advertised nor is the price reduced… we’ll go somewhere else for the rest of our stay

Pros- cheap, good shower pressureCons- front door broken, elevator doesn't work, no wifi, pool and spa are closed, restaurant is closed, bar is closed, very uncomfortable beds, wallpaper coming off the walls, I ripped my towel when drying off because it is so cheap, smellyIt's "under renovations", but the amount of problems this hotel has is pretty inexcusable. Would not recommend.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel during our move. After driving for over eight hours, we arrived at 3:30 in the morning. Unfortunately, the front desk staff couldn’t find our Expedia non-refundable reservation, so we had to book a room on the spot. To make matters worse, the hotel’s facilities, including the bar, restaurant, pool, elevators, internet, and television, were all closed. We settled for a first-floor room with a single bed and three 12*12 couch pillows due to the elevator not working and the desolate surroundings. However, our room had unadjustable decorative curtains that couldn’t block the sunlight, so we only slept for four hours before being woken up by the bright sun at 8 am. The thin walls made it challenging to sleep with constant noise from people outside. The breakfast selection was disappointing, with poor quality options served from 6 to 9 am.Upon check-out at 11 am, we couldn’t find anyone at the front desk around 10:40. The hotel’s luggage trolley was difficult to use, and there were various cleanliness issues, such as finding hair on the pillow. Additionally, if you stay multiple nights, the room was only cleaned every three days unless requested otherwise. Overall, our experience at the hotel was disappointing and filled with various inconveniences.I should check the reviews before booking!!!
