The owner moved us from one table to another then back. She was incredibly rude. I would rather eat gas station donuts and coffee than go back there.
First and last time at this care. My latte was watered down and tasted like watered down coffee with no espresso. My partners chai latte was over $7. It tasted mediocre.
Possibly my new favorite place for breakfast! HUGE selection was mind boggling. But our food was amazing! Husband chose a basic egg/sausage/toast. I got the BLT on sourdough bread and a pecan pancake. My son had gravy and biscuits. There is usually a long line waiting to get in. Very cute eclectic decor. Friendly staff
$5.39 for a medium cup of Folgers-esqe coffee. The place was cute and staff friendly enough. During my stay in St. Ignace I wasn’t able to find a decent cup of coffee so next time I’ll bring my own.
Very overpriced for mediocre food. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, which is unusual, but maybe a sign that they have run their course - $19 for a mediocre omelet, a little bit of dry hash browns and a single slice of stale toast is a bit much when it isn’t top notch.
Java Joe's was recommended by a family member as a 'must visit' breakfast restaurant and boy.....were they correct!! Outstanding service, such friendly staff members, easy to find, great corn beef hash with my eggs and hash browns and large portions, excellent coffee and the price for my breakfast was so inexpensive. Heading back to Java next fall on my annual visit to St. Ignace and Mackinac Island. Thanks guys. Breakfast on 10/20/24 and 10/25/24.
Cute looking place but pancakes were tough and chewy. Latte at$6.50 tasted like artificial plastic vanilla milk with no coffee in them. $45.00 wasted. Nice server but it took 75 minutes from being seated to check out. Sorry.
Very busy, so don't expect instantaneous service. Great coffee, very good food. Nice, local atmosphere. You can't find a better breakfast place in the area.
We arrived at 11am on a Wed in July . The friendly hostess sat us promptly & then went back to her hostess stand and looked at her phone until another customer had to be seated. The servers were hustling and were very busy. But neither one of them would acknowledge us with a smile or eye contact. We felt ignored waited almost 10 mins before one of them spoke to us. A quick greeting acknowledging us would have made us feel welcome. Also the hostess could have brought us water & coffee instead of looking at her phone. The food was served within a reasonable amount of time, but it was not hot and it tasted average like from Gordon Foods. When it was time to pay, we had to wait in a long line. There is one cashier to check out the to go orders & the in house diners. The décor is kitschy & cute, but I don't recommend eating there for breakfast.
I had a very bad experience at this restaurant with one of the owners. There was a miscommunication with one of the staff about whether dogs were allowed on the patio. When I asked to talk to a manager about this I was told "she went home for a minute". Upon further questioning I was told a owner was in the back. The owner did come out reluctantly and was somewhat hostile from the start. I explained my concern and he replied " this is the world today lady, get used to it". I would expect that someone who is running a business would have some desire go be fair and equitable to his customers. This does not have to be the world today and we do not have to get used to it! If you have a problem at this restaurant expect to be met with this type of response. We all deserve better!

The restaurant was very busy for breakfast as it was the weekend of the annual car show, but the staff took it in stride and provided quick, efficient, and friendly service. The menu is extensive but I can say the omelets, hashbrowns, and coffee were very good. Located conveniently near the hotels on the water, this is n excellent place for breakfast.
Cute breakfast spot. Staff is friendly and provide quick service. Food was ok to good. Seemed to vary based on what you order. Eggs and omelets were good, pancakes and coffee were just ok.
Really good food, huge variety, excellent coffee, great service. Good reviews lead us to Java Joes. So glad they did! Breakfast was really good. Very unique newspaper menu. Really cute.
We had our evening meal here, 4 minutes by car from our hotel. We were offered and accepted a table by the window ,too many mosquitoes to sit on the patio. A decent number of meal and drinks options. Attentive waitress and our meal came without too long a wait, the restaurant was 75% full. The cost of our meal and alcoholic drinks was comparable with other dining experiences. The restaurant it's self was decorated with an obvoius Mexican theme.
Cute little place. Menu is not marked but they have gluten free options including toast! Fills up fast, so expect a possible wait.
