Philippi Inn is a cozy "mom and pop" restaurant known for its delicious Appalachian comfort food. The menu features down-home country cooking, including open-faced sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy, beans and cornbread, and homemade pie with tall meringue. Customer favorites include Taco salad and grilled chicken salad, along with dishes like grilled trout that is flaky and melts in the mouth, and steak hoagies served with waffle fries. The restaurant is praised for its large portions and great prices, providing solid diner-style food. While the place may look like it has seen better days, the tables and dishes are clean, and the service is friendly, making the entire experience enjoyable. With a spacious parking lot, it is easily accessible for wheelchairs. Many visitors leave feeling full and satisfied, claiming it offers the best food in the area, worth the drive to experience real home-cooked meals in a welcoming atmosphere.
