The Philippi is my go-to location for comfort food and a relaxed atmosphere. The food is always good and the service very friendly! Country fried steak, the Giovanni burger, and biscuits and gravy are my favorites.
Some general maintenance on the interior could be improved but that would just take away from the mystique lol. Overall highly recommend!

Do not eat here if you have celiac. My daughter has celiac and we told the waitress. She assured us there was no gluten, rather than saying she wasn't sure which would have been much more safe/helpful. We got chicken and rice (both non gluten), but there must have been severe cross contamination. My daughter has been throwing up all night.

order was wrong. order hamburger with gravy and mushrooms, did not get gravy. don't order the cole slaw unless you like cole slaw as a dessert. it so sweet that i couldn't eat it. this order was a take out meal and the thrid they got something wrong on the meal

Great food large portions worth the money and the drive but they need more staff
It is worth the longer drive out of town to come to this great diner. I had the grilled trout which is flaky and melted in my mouth. My partner opted for the steak hoagie with waffle fries. Service is friendly and makes the entire experience even morr pleasurable. Highly recommended!!😄😇🤩
