haven't eaten there since I was a kid and will never eat there again. The french fries were just a bunch of pieces of fries like they were the bottom of the bag burnt and broken. I got like five fries in my order. the rest were just pieces. The fish was greasy and the hush puppy was dry as a bone. The cheese bites were good.

The food was really good. I was close to closing time which was unfortunate because the selection and amount of food available was far from the menu offerings. Not to mention how I was greeted upon walking in "just to let you know we close in like 10 minutes." Such a greeting always so makes me feel so welcome and that my business is appreciated ! They had 6 fried shrimp, one piece of fish and 3 pieces of chicken along with a box and half of waffle fries. I was there to buy a family meal. The cashier and cook were very friendly but not at all interested in cooking anymore food last night. At 5 til close they offered everything they had left as a #10. Fair enough...add a side or 2 of cole slaw some hush puppies and some of the crumblies and I will take it. All was good until a manager appeared from no where and started separating the food out of the box and advising the cook he needed 2 more pieces of fish. I think awesome...I'm getting the family meal I had originally ordered. Before my hush puppies were done another gentleman walks in presumably to order and is handed a large bad topped off with 2 pieces of their cheesecake factory pumpkin spice cheesecake I was told they were out of yet I clearly watched her bag up. Door dash, Uber eats, a mobile order? None of the above. The manager hands the guy the food, whispers one of the deserts is hers ,gives dude a kiss on the lips and he is out the door. Moments later, I'm handed my bag. There is one regular size box, one small box and 1 side of slaw. My majority of my order left with kissy face 😘! I ask the cashier and he said it's all in the box. I don't believe it is but ok....they have no food left and it's now 5 min after 9pm (closing time). I take the to go bag, my Frankenstein LJS family meal they lock the door and shit off the lights behind me. I should have gone right back up to the door after opening my 2 boxes. I had 2 pieces of fish,4 pieces of shrimp, a fraction of the portion of waffle fries originally offered, 1 side of cole slaw and 10 of the 12 hush puppies I paid additional to add. Where were the other 2 shrimp that had been in the box? Where was the box of crumbles dude put in the the chicken and fish? Where are the hush puppies that come with the meal? More importantly where were the 3 pieces of chicken? The " family meal" ended up not even a complete meal from the menu for 1. Next time I want to spend $18.00 on 2 piece fish +4 shrimp I will go to Red Lobster or Joes Crab Shack as the price will not differ that much. Long story short ...too late. Food was good,the hush puppies were awesome...wish id received all that I paid for . My advise on LJS in Ripley WV is to visit go well before closing time and hope the manager on duty is single so their boyfriend doesn't get your dinner and cheesecake too 😜!

Waffle fries are horrible. You need to bring back the original fries.
Walking into the restaurant feels like walking back into the 1970's. Old and shabby. The menu hasn't changed either. Not necessarily bad, but that plate-filling pile of fried batter debris really needs to go. Finally, the staff behind the counter appeared to be dressed for a Halloween party. Sorry to be so harsh, but this is not a place one would look forward to visiting.
