Had a fabulous Sunday brunch. We sat outside on a beautiful Sunday morning and Chad made our brunch "extra special" with his great service and friendly manner. Look forward to coming back again. Thank you.

Great hotel and restaurant in Shepherdstown WV, been there about 15 times in last 30 years. Highly recommend. The chalets all have balconies with a beautiful view of the Potomac River. Infinity pool overlooking the river is also very nice. The restaurant also had excellent German food.

We went for lunch on the C&O. This is one of my favorite stops along the way. The food and beer were great, and while we didn't stay the night, I will be staying here on my next C&O adventure

We visited for the restaurant and enjoyed the whole evening. We got excellent service from Katie, great recommendations, and enjoyed our meal. I liked the unique pear martini and we loved the food we ordered - funnily enough we were particularly big on the pretzels served with excellent seasoned butters.

Didn't stay, so can't speak to the rooms, restaurant is very good, service is great, location and view is very pretty!

If I could leave 1/2 star I would. We dined in the Rathskeller and while the service and the music was terrific the food was the WORST I’ve ever eaten. We’ve been going to the Bavarian for 20 years, and staying in the rooms. MANY Valentines Day, 15th and 20th wedding anniversary, 50th birthday celebration etc.. I’ve never been disappointed the food had always been a treat and so delicious we savored every bite. Tonight, for our 24th wedding anniversary was atrocious. I ordered the sauerbraten and it arrived cold and too tough to even cut with a knife (which you shouldn’t have to even use a knife.) I asked for some French onion soup instead, you can’t ruin that. Wrong, it was unpalatable, burnt and tasted sweet.My husbands scallops were undercooked and food was cold. We will never eat there again. What has happened, what has changed? Very disappointing.

I had my most disappointing schnitzel I have ever had at the Bavarian Inn recently. The bottom of the schnitzel was burned and hard. Frankly, I make better schnitzel at home. The side dishes were quite good though. But I am not sure I will ever order a schnitzel there again.

We love this place! The food in the restaurant is excellent. All the staff is great and our waiter Sam went above and beyond to make everything perfect. Incredible waiter.

Haven't stayed at the resort yet but the food and dining service is top notch! Will be coming back. Reuben Benedict was phenomenal, as was the german chocolate pancakes and sausage gravy I got to try.

I have not stayed in their rooms for many years but if they have kept them up as well as they have other parts of the Inn itself I'm sure they must be beautiful. On my 11/2/24 visit the Inn is still historically charmingl with many modern touches and their restaurant and the new areas associated with their brewery are lovely.

Nearby activities: Lots of nearby activities including hiking shopping etc

Food and drinks: Food was delicious and the drinks were wonderful! I especially enjoyed their seasonal Pumpkin White Russian

Noteworthy details: They now have a huge fire pit up on a hill beside the Inn where you can enjoy after dinner drinks and a great view of the magnificent surrounding mountains.

What an amazing time I had for a simple lunch of soup and salad. Decided to sit inside and hang at the bar as it was a little cool outside. The view are amazing and the food is out of this world. I chose the Cesar salad and French onion soup and both were amazing.
While at the bar TY/Tiana was amazing and o. Top of everything for me to include everyone else at the full bar and the main dining room

As a surprise for our newly married son and his beautiful bride we decided to get them a romantic all inclusive weekend at the Bavarian Inn. I had ordered chocolate covered strawberries to be waiting for them when they arrived. However, they arrived and checked to a room with no chocolate covered strawberries and only to be greeted by cockroaches. When they went back down to the front desk to let them know about the bugs they were told that’s to be expected when you are near the water. They gave them a different room. The conditions no better. I was so disappointed. Was really hoping for a great memorable romantic get away for them.

Very nice, cozy spot.
