Wonderful breakfast and wonderful service! Thoroughly enjoyed my pancake, and being from WV I was excited to see ponhaus on the menu. I’m a ‘recently defected’ vegetarian and hadn’t seen it on a menu until today. What a treat! Also chipped beef gravy, just like Mom used to make. Good coffee, too. We may be back tomorrow! (Note it is cash only)
I really wanted to like Betty’s — it’s a charming, old-school spot and one of the few breakfast diners in Shepherdstown — but the experience fell flat.
Service was incredibly slow. A couple who arrived at the exact same time I did received their food, ate, and left before my meal even made it to the table. There was no communication or acknowledgment from the staff, just a long, awkward wait.

Went for breakfast a couple of times.. Service is great and the food is consistently delicious. I recommend the pancakes which are enormous and better than anywhere around. Only downside is the cash only requirement... Especially when their ATM is down...
