The Press Room is our go to place when we need an evening out. The food is always delicious and the staff professional. The bar area is comfortable and Susie makes the best martini in town !

Cooked right, served at right moment when the food tasted the best, and, unique! I will come back to have dinner again.

This review is after 2 separate visits. Service wad great and atmosphere was great. That said, I our first visit, my wife ordered a crab pasta dish, and I ordered the scallops with mushroom risotto. The second visit my wife got the scallops with risotto to see if it was just a one time thing (I did not go). Unfortunately the dishes were extremely bland and underwhelming which we were pretty shocked to experience given the reviews. There must be some other great dishes on the menu, but these were not it. The food quality is the most important part of our restaurant experiences, so despite good service and great ambiance, I can't give this better than a 2 stars when I'd rather have a home cooked meal over what we ordered. I am truly not sure they used any salt in any of the dishes we were served, which was baffling to me.
We will likely not be back considering the other restaurant options around. Would rather drive elsewhere.

I enjoyed this place. The dimmer lighting and smallness of the room gave it a very relaxing atmosphere. The waiter / waitresses were very professional and friendly . I could tell they were experienced by the way they didn’t keep stopping by to where it was bothersome , rather they kept an eye from across the room and came when needed . The food was delicious and well balanced. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meals . I had the duck and it was cooked beautifully , my partner had a pasta which he enjoyed as well and my kid had soup . EDIT: I came back to edit my review because i did remember something concerning . My daughter had some type of white sauce clam soup , not sure what the name of it was .She really enjoyed it and we boxed up the last of it To-GO. on the way home my daughter was saying her stomach hurt really bad and she thought it was from the soup . when we got home after about 2 hours of relaxing I decided to take her soup out of the fridge and I heated it up on the stove for a minute and I ate the remaining soup. Literally about ten minutes later my stomach was also hurting very badly so I went to check on my daughter and she said she had been in the restroom sense we got home . Unfortunately I was sick the rest of the night as well. Both me and her were absolutely fine until we had that soup. Mind you we had both eaten separate things that whole week because I work 14 hour shifts and she is elsewhere while I work . The only thing we had digested in common was the soup itself. We got sick immediately after eating it , and our bodies tried to reject it immediately. So I have pretty outstanding evidence to believe we got food poisoning from that soup.

Fantastic restaurant!! The food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and we enjoyed our 2 person table tucked back in a cozy nook by the window. We wish we were local so we could go more often!!

I sat at the bar. I had been craving a steak and it was perfect. There is a great social atmosphere at the bar and off course everyone in Sheperdstown is going to talk to everyone any so it a great way to get out of house and the food is always amazing.

Great food, but they close waaaaay too early. 8 PM during the week and 9 on a weekend?! lol
My wife had some excellent pasta ( fancy Mac n cheese with mushrooms) but was super tasty. My steak was good, but I could’ve done just as well or better at home. The drinks were meh. Maybe I’m a snob, but if I’m paying $18 for an old fashioned, I expect a luxardo cherry not a fake maraschino guy. Overall, not worth the price paid

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted as though we were expected guests—and the evening only got better from there. Our server was both gracious and elegant, setting the perfect tone for the night. The calamari and peach appetizers were unique and absolutely delicious, and every entrée was sensational. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was perfectly timed throughout. We truly could not have had a more lovely evening. Thank you!

Host was pretentious. Food was excellent except steak was quite rare when ordered medium rare.

Food was excellent! Service was prompt, though our waiter wasn't quite as friendly as I would have expected, he made good suggestions and took care of us. Very good overall.
