Olive Tree Cafe and Catering

Great lunch with my dad today. Had to be sure to get him to try the fried feta. Service was fantastic, and so was the food.

The pic of the steak was from the visit a few weeks ago from the dinner menu. Poor picture, but Brussel sprouts were very good!

Group of 11 visually impaired people treated poorly. Waitress had an attitude from the time we walked in the door. They charge a 20% gratuity automatically without telling anyone beforehand. Food was mediocre at best. Manager tried to lower the lights on people who need the light and when asked if he wouldn’t he said no until I told him these people needed to be able to see their food. Then he left it up. Bad attitudes by the staff. We are a very nice group of people and did not appreciate the poor attitudes, expensive prices for the quality and the mandatory tip. We would have tipped well for good service and a pleasant attitude but all it did was allow this waitress to have a bad attitude the entire time. Would never recommend this place.

We really enjoy the outside dining, with supplemental heating, cool evenings are still enjoyable.

II Duche Sandwich, Large Greek Salad, Olive Tree Gyro, Chocolate Chip Cookie. Everything was delicious. Service was quick. Ate outside, which we enjoyed.

We will definitely be returning to eat here again. Nice casual atmosphere with attentive service. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

We had one good experience a while ago so we thought we'd try them again today. We waited for almost 40 minutes without getting served out appetizer, or getting our glasses of water refilled (and they were empty for some time.) We ended up cancelling our order and leaving as one of us had to get back to work. We were super disappointed. The people at the table next to us said they'd never had service this bad there. Hopefully it was a fluke. Maybe we'll give them some time and try again and update our review at that time.

Update: I went back and tried the Italian Beef. Overall it was good, but nothing exciting. A bit dry for my personal preference. From ordering to leaving I spent an hour in the restaurant, which isn't unreasonable. This isn't a place I'm going to crave and need to run back to, but if another friend wanted to meet there I probably wouldn't fight them. Not an awful experience, just not my cup of tea I guess and that's ok! I've heard a lot of people really love it

Third time eating at The Olive Tree and we plan on returning when we are back in South Charleston.
Everything is absolutely fresh and delicious .

I had always heard good things, but, wow! I ordered the El Cubano, and it was amazing! Best sandwich I've had in at least 10 years, probably 20! Excellent service, outside seating was perfect, and great beer selection. Only complaint I have is the incredibly expensive beer. $10+ for a draft beer is kinda silly.
