River alley bowling
9/6/25 This place charges a 4% convenience fee and doesn't tell you. They expect you to see it written somewhere and i never did. This fee might as well be a percentage of the electricity bill or property fees because that's what bank card fees are: the cost of running a business. Cards are convenient for restaurants as well as customers. Cards enable customers to spend more than a finite amount of cash they withdrawal from the atm. This is a BIG plus for the restaurant especially a bar & restaurant like River Alley where alcohol prices and expensive entrees can really stack up. Why make us pay more than the card fee? Why not half and half at the most(1.5%) because you the restaurant benefit greatly from us having our banks in our pockets so we can go any time without going to the bank first and we don't have a specific amount of cash to use. We have the ability to say we want to splurge spontaneously and spend more than usual and this place thanks their customer by charging them a fee. Thanks but no thanks. I'll go somewhere else where they take responsibility for their own costs of running a business.

I do not bring my money to any place that charges a convenience fee. It was not made known to me. They said they put it on the monitor. You need to put it on the card machine or tell verbally. Her excuse: "All the bowling places do it". Well, The other place told me about the convenience fee before I paid. Businesses do not even pay a 4% bank fee when we use our card. That is the highest fee I have ever heard.
Also, They would not allow us to have our refillable water bottles. Bowling is a physical activity. I get really thirsty. We have a lot of kids with us and it gets expensive buying pricey food and drinks for everyone. They do not give free tap water. You have to buy bottled water. And don't give me that lie about gonna lose your liquor license if I bring in water. You can smell alcohol so an easy smell test of my water and you will know it has zero alcohol in it. If I wanted to sneak in alcohol I would conceal the bottle and pour it in my drink that I bought at your establishment. I do not drink alcohol whatsoever. It is a mycotoxin, a literal poison.
4/25/24 Thursday night: The place closes at 10, kitchen closes at 9.
3/7/24 We requested a lane but the employee said no because "it messes with the mechanics". 10 minutes later 3 people are on that lane we wanted. 10 more minutes later and 2 people are on the very last lane with 10 vacant lanes before them. We never get the hour we paid for and they won't allow us to get settled before they start the time. They never give enough walk up time to get settled.

2/22/24 I do not like the giant screens. They are not family friendly with too much sexual content including a bath tub scene. It's like having MTV on the whole time with inappropriate videos playing and women not wearing enough clothing.

Another problem we have is that we pay for an hour but we only recieve 50 minutes because we have to get settled before we can bowl including putting our names in the screen which never goes smoothly, have to get shoes and pick out balls. Then we can't figure out how to put the names and the employee had a hard time too because there were 2 of us but she put 4 players and spelled out names twice on one line. The employee refused to adjust the time so we could get the 60 minutes but instead said she could add 10"free"minutes at the end. Well we paid for them They're not free. We ended up losing out on the 10 minutes because we left without asking for them at the end. It was a Thursday, busy but still plenty of lanes available.

Pretty good, they have house balls you can use or bring your own, also got leagues and rental shoes pretty well kept although some of the technology they use is date doesn't influence the experience much, clean bathrooms and pretty quite with not many people they also have pretty good food!

So the policy is now only 6 people to a lane. Even though a month ago 7 was fine. No flexibility. 4 kids and 3 adults. Not happy.

The bowling for 1 hour(up to five people, rental shoes included) is a great value.

The bowling lanes were some of the worst lanes mechanically. We had to reset the lanes 18 times and when the pins reset they would fall. Asked the person at the desk finely moved us to the next lane after going to the desk 3 times. Not a fun experience.

This bowling alley is always neat and clean and well maintained. My family loves coming here. I've got 2 little girls and they love the dragon that helps them roll the ball.

i had so much fun with my friends, and the food was so good. i recommend their nachos, bbq wings, and their fried pickles. but their staff has some really bad attitudes, and they were really rude. my friends and i have great respect for people that work and serve us food but the way they treated us was very disrespectful. other than that i would totally go again!

They recently remodeled this place and the updates looks great! We ordered pizza and it was really good! The bar has a great selection of drinks. The seating is a little crowded but it’s no big deal. I am so happy we went after not being there in years. We’re already planning on going back soon.
