The food was terrible and the service was poor. It took an hour to get sandwiches. For the equality of the food it was very expensive

Casual resort/motel on a beautiful big lake. We stayed one night and played golf. The food at the restaurant was very good. Nothing fancy but hits the spot. Rooms are very plain but it's a place to sleep. Didn't hear any neighbors. Golf was a lot of fun. The course isn't too hard but has some challenges and a mix of dog legs and elevation changes. A few holes on the lake which are nice. Hole 10 is awesome. The conditions are fine, not bad, not great, but the price is right for what you get. Don't think this will be a destination for me again but it was a fun time and recommend if you're in the area.

Food and drinks: Restaurant was good. Get the alpine fries!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Alpine Lake Resort, and I must say, it is an absolutely beautiful destination. The resort offers a wide range of amenities that cater to families and guests of all ages. From a sparkling pool and well-equipped gym to a delightful restaurant and a scenic golf course, there’s something for everyone.

Our family stayed in one of the Airbnb cabins, and it was stunning—spacious, comfortable, and perfectly maintained. The resort takes great care in maintaining all roads, vegetation, and grass, which contributes to the overall serene and well-kept atmosphere.

One of the highlights of our stay was the chance to see local wildlife. We spotted deer around the resort, adding to the charm of the natural setting. If you’re staying in a cabin, it’s important to be cautious of other wildlife, such as bears and bobcats, which are native to West Virginia.

There are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake, relaxing on the private beach, and exploring the arcade game room. However, I did notice that some of the arcade machines were out of order and could use an update.

One thing to note is that while some activities incur a small fee, the pool and gym are free of charge, which was a nice bonus. The staff at the restaurant were exceptionally kind and made our dining experience pleasant.

Overall, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning in the near future. The combination of beautiful surroundings, excellent amenities, friendly service, and the chance to experience local wildlife makes Alpine Lake Resort a top choice for a family getaway.

The hotel is in a nice mountain lake location. We enjoyed the lake beach and hiking trails onsite. The room/building is older. The carpeting needs to be deep cleaned or replaced. Otherwise, the bedding and room were clean. The new decks off of the rooms were very nice. The front desk staff got their job done, but we did not receive a greeting or thank you during check-in or check-out.

The rooms had a musty, damp odor. It felt like camping but indoors. 17 miles of hiking, but the best stretch was a mile or so segment called Seven Bridges that meanders along the lake. Breakfast was not quite a continental spread, limited to cereal and packaged baked goods.

Spent three nights in the Motel at Alpine Lake Resort. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Perfect size for our family to stay. Loved having the fridge and microwave in the room. And access to a deck off the room (where I watched golfers while working). The entire staff was AMAZING and so very kind. So many amenities - complimentary mini-golf (next to the Motel), indoor swimming pool, fitness center. Game room has a good number of games (for small fee). We also played some pickleball on the courts!
My husband and son played golf two days, and really enjoyed the course! Great pricing for a round, and even offered twilight pricing after 3pm.
Food at the Lodge was good -- and the service was great! The view of the golf course and the lake were amazing.
Didn't get a chance to go out on the lake, but there is access to fishing and go out on a kayak.
Overall, an amazing vacation to kick off our summer. We will be back!

Rooms: Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Large room for our family to use for the four days/three nights we were there. Housekeeping staff was great and very helpful.

Nearby activities: The Resort has so much to offer! Golf, indoor pool, game room, mini-golf, tennis/pickleball, boating, fishing, small library.

Food & drinks: Great food, reasonably priced. Great service in the restaurant.

Noteworthy details: Overall, this resort has amazing customer service. From the front desk to the restaurant (The Lodge) to the housekeeping staff, to the Pro-Shop. Everyone was so great to us while we were in West Virginia.

Do you remember the movie Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray? Yeah, that movie could have been shot here. The decor has not changed, and neither have the ammenities since 1950. Don't get me wrong, the views are amazing, and the golf course is pretty spot on. The lodge is very dated and reminds me of The Shining. My comforter straight up had cum stains on it! The restaurant was packed with locals, BUT the food was fast food quality and pretty expensive. The bat has a lot to desire, BUT we are in the middle of West By God Virginia.

We stayed in a hotel room for a night. The rooms are not updated, which is shown by pictures on the website so that was to be expected. Cleanliness was the issue. There was a used Qtip on the floor under one of the chairs, the table in the room appeared like it had not been wiped off in months, and worst of all, there was a pile of old dried up chewing snuff beside the bed and night stand. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We loved the area and amenities offered but likely will not stay at the hotel again.

We stayed in a room, not a cabin. Even so, we had a porch. The kids had a great time with access to the little beach, the pool open until 10, and a mini golf course. The views were spectacular.

We stayed Saturday Sunday and left Monday morning it is a country club that has hotel rooms. food in the kitchen was average at best I had a fish sandwich that I had to ask for tartar sauce the girlfriend had a Reuben sandwich and it was chunky portobello mushrooms were delicious and the cheese sticks were okay now for the rooms are outdated. the bed in room 109 needs to be replaced feels like the box springs were broken carpet needs shampooed it was clean I can say that much shower knob looks like it needs to be cleaned looks like mildew or mold it's in the picture Sunday everybody leaves the hotel by 4:00 they don't say anything it's just all you by yourself no kitchen to get food or go Putt-Putt golfing fishing wasn't really an option they don't really have a shoreline where you can go fishing and the one beach that they had they had three kids on it digging holes in the ground with Sand mountains's about 6 ft high the people around there seemed kind of snobby it was a quiet getaway for me and the old lady but I would probably never visit again just my opinion places to eat in town are very slim they have Subway and dairy Queen there's a little restaurant but it looks like a barn then they have a local pub I understand we were there before memorial Day weekend but still there was no activities another thing I didn't like I wanted to rent a golf cart to drive around and you had to purchase golf time before you can purchase there's no access from the lounge to the water you have to drive around half the lake to be able to find the local Beach

Absolutely amazing staff. The friendliest people I have ever met in the hospitality industry. They go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. This is my go to place to stay when I go to Oakland Maryland to visit family. It is 15 minutes from my sister's house.
