People were nice and scenes were great. The hotel was not. The hotel is cheap and you get what you pay for. Breakfast is granola bars and bad coffee that you have to pay for. No water fountain in the hotel, have to buy bottled water or risk it with the sinks. Rooms are old and dank. Toilet and soap dispensers in my room were broken. Beds not comfortable - scratchy linens and cheap mattress. The hotel is a separate building than the check in building with the pool and restaurant.

Barely qualifies as a resort. I'll not be back. Ever. The hotel rooms are expensive and smell bad. Cigarettes and mildew seem to be the air fresheners of choice. This place was built in 1971 and that was the last major investment in it as far as I can tell. Lake is lovely and the grounds look nice. Staff are nice but they seem clueless.

My wife and I stayed there for her birthday this past weekend . We wanted to stay on Deep Creek lake- which was three times the cost but we were still close enough to enjoy everything at Deep Creek. As everyone says the place is dated but well taken care off and it shows that it is a community that truly cares. The staff was so kind and gracious- even had a birthday card for my wife waiting when we arrived. It is a true community both of people that live on the lake but also rent out. Santa was there this past weekend for a kids buffet breakfast. The lodge was decorated beautifully and there were numerous activities going on all lead by the property owners. The lake is pristine, the trails are well maintained- not a single piece of trash- the game room is retro and fun, the pool was amazing, the free breakfast for hotel guests was a step above continental. This is a true hidden gem. We plan on staying there this summer and becoming property owners in the future.

Setting was absolutely gorgeous! The employees were pleasant to interact with and helpful. The rooms were clean but needed some updating. Overall I would go there again!

The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is romantic overlooking a small but busy town! A most go place for that romantic experience one would never forget they had with that special someone!!

We didn't stay at the hotel, but the resort area has a lot to do and see. It's less than a half hour from Oakland or Deep Creek Lake.

I stayed here before seeing any of the negative reviews and I am so glad I did. The restaurant is open Monday thru Saturday and the food is amazing. The staff is all friendly and helpful. I will most definitely be back with my family as often as possible. The scenery is to die for and the prices are very reasonable.

Awful experience at the restaurant, very rude, 35 minutes and never waited on. The girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, the rest of the stay was good. Had to leave at 8:15 pm to feed my two kids because the waitresses were to worried about talking and not waiting on us, bussed tables and left us waiting. When I asked the older lady if she was going take our order, she replied let me put these plates away, I don't think you want to hold them ? NOT good for business. I should of had a discount on my stay for the gasoline it took to drive around to feed my children.Safety: I liked that they had security

The bad reviews are true:We booked this on a whim. Our goal was to have a day to hike, walk, relax, swim, eat and drink. The room was a show-stopper. Yes, it was old and outdated, but that wasn’t the problem. Everything in the “hotel” as CLAMMY, DANK AND DAMP with a strong smell of chemicals. In other words, the carpet and linens felt damp and had strong chemical smell. I don’t know what that smell was aside from a strong chemical cleaner to kill who-knows-what.We actually laid in the bed for about 30 minutes, before the chemical smell started to irritate our lungs. There was no way we could stay here.We literally booked another hotel 30 minutes away in Deep Creek and just left (wasting $140+).This is NOT a resort. Just read the reviews. It felt dirty.(also research the bat situation. Stay here at your own risk)

We stayed in the cabins vs the rooms of the lodge. The lake area is just beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. There are all kinds of options for the family from fishing, kayaking, swimming at the beach, putt-putt, swimming in the pool, or just walking around the paths and seeing the wildlife. Where we live it is quite warm during the summer. Here at Alpine it was 10+ degrees cooler than home. Almost felt fall-ish but in August.

Absolutely stunning views. Staff is kind & attentive. Food is good, drinks are great. Super safe, never a worry. Hotel rooms are a bit dated but have everything you need & are VERY clean. Rate is very reasonable. I've stayed here a dozen times over the last year for work. I don't golf so I can't speak to that.

We ate at the restaurant. They are under new management. The service was great, and the Reuben was delicious. We will be going back!
