Vibey little coffee shop with good quality coffee. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious. I got a carmel cappuccino and it was the best one in along time. Not to sweet, which I appreciate

Adorable little coffee shop. Their lattes are fabulous and the syrup selection is great. Their baked goods are also very good. Highly suggest for anyone passing thru the area or staying at Blackwater falls.

I very much enjoyed each of my three visits to Tip Top during my stay in Thomas. Great coffee, great staff and a lovely environment! I can't wait to visit again.
We look forward to coming here every year when we visit Blackwater Falls. Fantastic coffee, great vibes. This is the best coffee you will find local to the state park, and Thomas is a joy to stroll through!

Bad drinks, colder service — save yourself the trip.
TLDR: Cold service + bad drinks = never again
Asked for a hot chocolate “less sweet.” Came out syrupy. Barista lectured me about what’s in hot chocolate, then said they’d only remake it if I paid again. Tried a Chagachino — just as sweet. Returned both drinks, refunded for one. No apology, no warmth, and a fake “Have a nice day!”
Go to Trailhead in Davis instead.
Long version:
I was excited to try TipTop Coffee but left feeling unwelcome and disappointed. I ordered a hot chocolate and asked for it to be less sweet. It came out very sweet. When I mentioned this, the barista explained what’s in hot chocolate “that makes it sweet” — as though I wasn’t aware — and said they’d only remake it if I paid for another drink. I instead ordered a Chagachino, which was also extremely sweet.
When I raised it again, there was no apology or empathy — just an offer to remake it. By then, I’d had enough and asked for a refund, returning both drinks. I left without anything to drink, yet the staff showed zero concern that a paying customer’s entire experience was negative.
Coffee shops are supposed to be warm, welcoming spaces, but this felt cold and transactional. The strangest part was being told “Have a nice day!” on my way out, as if nothing had happened. If I’m back in the area, I’ll be visiting Trailhead in Davis instead.

Extremely bad staff, condescending! Made you feel like you didn’t know what you were talking about. I’ve been on a road trip in almost 30 states and by far this was the worst experience! Extremely sweet pumps, bad customer service, really bad attitude of employees! Just go to Davis for a much better experience a mile away. The most important thing is coffee was so bad and so sweet! Even after paying for the 2nd one which I didn’t need to, it was still so sweet! Never going here again!

All of these locations are so clean and community oriented, supporting other local businesses and creators. They offer amazing drinks and probably the best gluten free food you will find in rural West Virginia!! Highly recommend.

Ever since going to tip top for the first time, I now compare every coffee shop to them—it’s quite unfair to every other coffeeshop around the country.
The staff is absolutely fantastic—they made me feel right at home when I needed it most.
The pastries are DIVINE!!!
And the drink selection is incredible.
I spent hours there multiple days in row reading and writing, the vibe was perfect.
Highly recommend the chaga latte and the peaches and cream danish.

We love TipTop! It's so cute and welcoming. The service is always great and the drinks are always delicious. We tried their chicken sausage bagel this morning and it was a 10/10. Such a great little place 🥰
