My GF and I went to Rose’s Café at Ljósa, Faroe Islands, in the middle of february. Our visit was a bit out of season, with few visitors, but the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming nonetheless. We had a nice talk, and shared stories with good laughs. I went with the classic burger, with Rose’s personal touch, with locally sourced and cut meat, with tasty spices. My GF went with the fish and chips, also locally sourced, crispy and moist. Lots of thanks for the great and friendly service, and thank you for the lovely chat.

We stopped over at Rose's cafe in the Autumn of 2022 in the middle of a memorable holiday to the Faroe Islands. It was strange to find this little oasis of warmth and conversation in the middle of such a (beautifully) barren landscape. We were let in even though the cafe wasn't officially open and spoke to Rose for a good 90 minutes about everything: our own lives and travels, her childhood in Ethiopia, her many adventures, and her new life with her Faroese partner in the North Atlantic. It was a truly memorable experience. The food was great too--we had a delicious cake and some coffee. Really I can't recommend this place enough.

Far away, in the northern part of the Faraoe Island, a place caled Ljosa along road nr 10 you will find Roses Cafe and restaurant. The place itself has a spectacular view of the fjord and the food is simply first class. Our choice was fish of the day, fresh cod with vegetable and potatoes.Simply fantastic.Roses Cafe is a hidden gem and the owner is so friendly. So, if you are a little bit off the beaten track.Go there. You get value for money

I saw the sign while driving and I was not disappointed. I tried a few other places but none came close to Rose's fish and chips. I wish the opening hours were longer as I was not able to get back for more meals during the current opening hours.

We stopped in for dinner one night along our 7-day road trip through the Faroe Islands. Rose is a straight-shooter who is passionate about her craft. I was excited to see leg of lamb on the menu, but then disappointed that you must order it ahead of time; however, I understand the reasoning why. I ended up getting the Fish & chips. The fish was crunchy on the outside and nice and tender on the inside while the chips were crispy. Overall, it’s a great place to stop for a meal and enjoy the views of the surrounding water and mountains.

Really the only reason to visit the Faroes is to visit Rose's Restaurant. Of course the food is wonderful, and so is Rose. Great long intellectual and international conversations about Ethiopia, US and Faroese dialects. What's not to love.

Looking for coffee, we stoped at Rose’s on spec - and were not disappointed. The coffee was amazing! We went back two days later for lunch and ate a wonderfully fresh Greek salad and the most delicious fish and chips ever. Rose herself is completely delightful. I could have chatted with her for hours. Go out of your way to visit! But call in advance as Rose doesn’t open every day and often hosts large groups which means she can’t accommodate walk-ins.

We fell upon this cafe by accident and had an excellent cup of coffee. We had such a nice reception fromRose we came back a few days later for Fish and chips. They too were excellent, really good fish and a great batter. Thank you, Rose and team

This is the second time we've been to Rose's Cafe and both times were just amazing. Tonight was our anniversary and Rose made sure everything was perfect for us and our family. I'm celiac so I need gluten free, and Rose was extra careful to make sure everything was safe for me, but still just as delicious as everything else. It's a perfect place if you like cozy restaurants that make you feel like a "guest" instead of just a "customer".

During our recent visit to the Faroe Islands (July 2022), we ended up going to Rose's Cafe twice on account of the fantastic food, friendly ambience, great views, and, last but not least, Rose (the owner) herself! I had the fish and chips twice, as it was the best version of the dish I'd ever had. My wife ordered the cheeseburger on day two, which she thought stood up to some of the best restaurant burgers in the US. Couldn't recommend Rose's more highly. If you have a moment or two, have a chat with Rose; she's a wonderful personal and the embodiment of a passionate small-business owner.

If you're in here for a fast food experience forget about it. But if you're for a restaurant experience and for good food this is the place to go. Rose is a really personal person about her restaurant and her cooking. We've had a really nice experience that I would recommend to just about everyone. As long as you're not in a hurry I too extremely recommend going there the food is perfect the service is great and the prices are fair. We've taken the fish of the day and I can honestly say this is one of the best cod dishes I have ever had in my life.

We visited the Faroe Islands this June (2022) and stayed two days in Molin House. The hotel manager recommended us Rose's Cafe, which was an excellent choice. The place is cozy but very clean, amiable, and offers excellent food. The fish and chips was marvelous. Rose is a great host, constantly taking care of every customer. It is recommended to book your table in advance, as it might be busy despite being located practically nowhere. Highly recommended!
