The Main Dining Room at The Greenbrier

Avoid the breakfast. Definitely the most disappointing meal of our visit. Buffet had nothing but cheap options that you can often find for free at a standard hotel.

Wonderful time at Greenbrier! The Christmas decorations were gorgeous! Everyone was very helpful and polite! Will definitely go back again!

The restaurant offers excellent food in a formal atmosphere. While some dishes can be a bit salty, the creativity, layers of flavor, and presentation are outstanding. Starting with a creative combination of bread specially the black pepper roles were amazing. We ordered the onion soup, which was exquisite. The salad resembled a beautiful floral arrangement. The sea bass was unique, and the risotto was complex. The grilled shrimp were probably the best I have ever tasted. The peach desert was nothing to write home about. A jacket is required for admission, but they provided one for me. Many thanks!

My fried chicken was good and so were my collards. But the potatoes tasted like potato pearls aka cheap lol. My cocktails were good though. We were waited on by management as she claimed she had one server.

Excellent! The miso glazed Salmon was absolutely delicious. The service is great and of course the dining hall is breath taking like the rest of the hotel. Must dress in formal dining attire- men must wear dinner jackets and ladies elegant evening wear.

Our stay at Greenbrier was awful. Do not stay here or you will be extremely disappointed. It was ratty and definitely NOT 5 star.

A suberb,luxurious hotel!

Excellant service, great Christmas decor. We ordered from the menu instead of the buffet. All our plates were prepared well and delicious.

Breakfast buffet is decent and you can also order off the menu & they make a killer bloody maria… Dinner is very classy, you must dress up. We’ve eaten here multiple times and enjoyed it every time, no complaints. We also enjoy the piano/guitar music they play during dinner.

What a wonderful treat at the Greenbrier Main Dining Room this week! Our table of 3 people sampled several of the delicious appetizers including the Cream of Mushroom soup (which doesn't always sound super exciting but wow, it was incredible!). The Warmed Brie Tart and Arugula & Avocado salad also did not disappoint. For the main course, we had the Seared Scallops, the Harissa Cauliflower and the Basil Pesto Stuffed Chicken, all exceptionally prepared and exquisitely presented. If you haven't eaten here lately, you're going to want to check it out as some recent very talented additions in the kitchen are producing phenomenal results! There are so many other wonderful sounding items on the menu, I hope to go back soon to try some more. Lastly, the dining room staff was professional and friendly, we were well-cared for throughout. The longevity of service of the staff really speaks volumes. Both servers had been at the Greenbrier for decades so they know the resort inside and out and delivered a high quality dining experience that we will be talking about for awhile. Kudos to the Greenbrier Main Dining Room Chefs and staff, we'll be back! Last thing as I was adding photos...even the breads were fantastic. Don't skip the cornbread with bacon...I don't even like bacon but I loved these muffins.
