Los Cabos Baja Family Mexican Restaurant

We did not read the reviews before going. We walked in and we were the only customers inside on a Saturday afternoon. Dim lighting, no music playing in the place, and the man helping was impersonal. We were given our menus and told to select our table of our choice by what seemed to be the only worker in the place. We were brought chips and watery salsa—of which his thumb was inside the rim when handing it to us—I dared to take a taste of the chips and salsa. Stale and the dip was sour to the taste. That’s when I took all the signs and looked at the reviews. That’s when I promptly told the man that we were going across the street to Agave. At least the guy simply said “ok” and let us leave with little commotion. We were not trying to get food poisoning on our vacation getaway.

If 0 stars was an option, I would give it that. The most disgusting environment. In the dining area there was random cleaning supplies and a fly swatter right next to the napkins. We grabbed a booster seat for my niece and there was mouse poop in it. The bathroom had dried pee all over the place. We were brought cloudy looking water that no one touched. We noticed the hot sauce on the table was molding. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. We asked that our food be “boxed up” so we could leave. We left and promptly threw the food in the garbage. You couldn’t have paid me to take a single bite. I feel nauseous even thinking about our experience there. Absolutely do not go!!!!

The original owner stated he was closing up the business after serving the community for 25 years. To bad.

Listen up. This is the most authentic Mexican restaurant you can possibly get. Imagine being deep in the heart of Mexico and walking into the home of an old senhor who's been perfecting his recipes for decades. He's a one-man show. The hostess, the waiter and the cook. I strongly recommend the Bean dip. Definitely go here and feel great about it! Don't let the other bad reviews fool you

Horrible place to go. One man show. Handed us the menus and walked off..I didn't know what was happening?. We sat 15 mins later came with water
Old chips on food stained parchment paper..the salsa was watered soup and looked used. After waiting 30 mins. We got up and left. There was 1 family there and they had been waiting 45 mins for food. I felt bad for the older gentleman running the show. Left him three bucks for untouched water and we left. STAY AWAY!

Why can’t you give 0 stars? That’s what I would give this place. Should have known when we were the only people there. Just figured it was a slow winters night in Afton, WY. The owner/waiter/cook was not friendly at all. Anytime we said please or thank you he would walk away without any acknowledgement. The food was probably the worst thing I have ever had to pay for. I have had MRE’s better than what we were served. The only somewhat ok part was the chips which we found a 8” hair in so we stopped eating those. Out of the 4 of us no one took more than a bite. The two that got sodas said they were flat as can be and didn’t drink them. We jumped up and found the guy in the back and told him we were done. We paid regretfully and the prices were double that of any basic Mexican joint where you can at least eat the meal. Avoid this place at all cost. I warned you.

I must say this place has the best Salsa I ever tried. Everything is done fresh. Liked the vegetarian options here. Location is awesome and great place to stop between Jackson and Montpelier.

This is a one man show. We were seated, served, waited on and cooked for by the same man. The hot sauce on the table was 4 years expired. Luckily we were the only ones in the restaurant or it would have taken forever. The food seemed to be precooked and warmed up for us. The food came out in shifts so we did not eat together. If I were you I’d eat somewhere else.

This individual is a thief! Do not give them your credit card number, especially a debit card. He will use it because he thinks it’s all right. He recently used mine and charged $156 on it.

I wish I could give a better review, but this was just awful. Only one person working there, food was generally cold, seemed reheated and stale. Watery beans, watery salsa, crunchy rice....
The server/cook was polite.

BEWARE. Simply BAD. Read the other reviews. We unfortunately did not read them before going in. The $6 margaritas tasted like Pine-Sol bathroom cleaner that was laced with sugar. The salsa with the chips was more of a watered soup that had too much salt and a few tomato pieces floating in it. We were afraid to try the food from the single person working front of the house and back of the house, and wondered how old the ingredients might be and left.

Read the other reviews, and head across the street to a good Mexican restaurant.

I feel bad giving a poor review, but the food was not warm, took forever, etc. There was 1 person working, doing everything and we were a group of 7. He did the best he could, but I did not eat much of what I ordered. If he had warned us first, we would have gone elsewhere

Horrible food, I don't recommend it to anyone.The rice was rotten for like 2 days. There is only one person to serve and cook and finally they charged me 30% on the bill...I don't recommend it to anyone, I had a very bad time.
