About Zapata's

Zapata's is a vibrant Mexican restaurant located in the heart of Cody, Wyoming, offering a fun and colorful dining experience. The atmosphere is energetic, with outdoor seating available to enjoy the warm Wyoming evenings. The staff works hard to serve guests, even during busy times. The food is the main attraction, featuring dishes like the quesadilla, beef chimichanga filled with tender shredded chicken, and the famous Texas twinkies. The tamale dinner and taco dinner come in nice-sized portions and are both delicious. The restaurant serves homemade salsa that has a nice flavor, with variations that enhance the dining experience. The Texas Twinkie is a flavorful appetizer, especially when filled with brisket. The venue has a nostalgic 1960s style with bright paint and chairs.

Customers praise the excellent service, nice ambiance, and fantastic food, including the Chili Verde and Chimichanga. The salsa is still considered the best in town, and the mainstreet location is convenient for shopping and lunch. While seating can sometimes be slow, the attentive servers and perfect music level create an enjoyable dining experience, making Zapata's a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Excellent service! Delicious food! House margaritas were tasty & refreshing after a long drive. The salsa has heat & it was the absolute best I’ve tasted. We bought some to go. Taco salad had fresh guacamole & black olives. The owner was personally welcoming. Highly recommend. This should be featured on Diners, Drive Ins, & Dives.

They were one of the few restaurants open on Labor Day weekend. Glad they were. Slow to be seated but food was good. BUT (!!!!) don't fall for the pitcher of margueritas!!!! We got duped with it being $65!!!! Plus, it was like kool-aid, very weak and the pitcher was over half way filled with ice. NOT worth it.

Great service and great food!
