āāāāā Had the Mushroom Swiss double smash burger with bacon, mushrooms, and cheese ā absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. Fries were hot and crispy too. Ranch & Roost nailed it ā definitely coming back!

Best restaurant in Gillette. It would be nice if there was a real seating area in the restaurant, but that doesnāt keep me from stopping every trip to/through Gillette.

R&Roost is still too much a Gillette ābest kept secretā -a great find with excellent smash burgers and nice dark fries. The chicken sandwich was good too but I was expecting a darker, crunchier breading/coating and it was more thin and light. The buns are super fresh! There is no place to dine inside but plenty of space outside wind and weather permitting. The place next door welcomes R&R customers and is an extension of with even a logo on the door, which we really appreciated at noon with a party of 7 on a very windy day. The bar is clean and spacious with a most friendly bar tender. The family members that joined us live here in Gillette and couldnāt believe we found a great place they didnāt know about. We will be going back!

I wish establishments like this would really teach their front desk person customer service skills. One thing that drives me nuts is walking into an establishment for someone to just stare at you. No one ever greets you anymore and says good morning or good afternoon or even what could I get for you today. They just give you the dead look waiting for you to tell them what you want. Then they donāt like it when you stare back at them and donāt say nothingššš

The burgers are absolutely top notch and the reason I'm giving 5 stars is because the 3 guys that work there know how to treat customers i only caught the one guys name, Matthew. I'm real big on customer service and appreciate these guys very much and will most definitely be back again...
Oh and they have homemade vanilla ice-cream and do delicious root beer floats now!!!
We were in town for the Elks convention, and decided to pop over and try it out for some lunch. Glad we did! The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. It was fairly busy when we stopped in (we got the tail end of a rush), but the service was good and wait time reasonable. Place is a little on the spendy side, but not terribly outrageous. I would eat there again- especially hanging in the courtyard enjoying a Big Lost Meadery beverage with lunch.

Not only was the prices great but the food was delicious and fresh! The fact that they used tallow and cooked everything fresh to order was the reason we went there when we drove through Gillette but we didnāt expect the food to be so amazing! š

I was looking for a place to eat local to Gillette and saw Ranch and Roost with great reviews. It was right down the street from my hotel and a super easy drive. The outside doesnāt look like much, in fact, had it not been for the reviews, I would have definitely passed it over based on pictures. Iām glad I didnāt, though.
Walking in, it smelt amazing. Itās almost like a big kitchen with a little counter to take your order, but has ample seating outside. The portion sizes were huge! It was a little pricy, but not too crazy. They are smash burgers so they have a bit of a crunch, and they are double smash burgers so once you start getting the toppings in there, that burger grows high. That was a struggle for me because I have a small mouth and tend to tear the corners of my mouth, but I think most people would appreciate it. Great flavor for sure.
I ordered fries and tater kegs for the sides. Fries are made fresh which again, most people love but not me because I find them to be less crispy and more soggy. But they did have excellent flavor. The potato kegs were like huge tater tots with cheese and green onion in them if I recall correctly. They were a bit dry, even drowned in ranch, so those werenāt my fave. Speaking of ranch, Iām a bit of a ranch snob and I will say they had excellent ranch.
Overall, Iād probably eat here again if I find myself passing through again.

This burger shack is nicely decorated with an open kitchen, pleasant service and seating outside and available in the beer hall. On a sunny day its a great location for a pleasant meal.
What surprised me the most was the burger. All of us have probably had a few in their time, but this was juicy, fresh and a decent portion. It could always be bigger, but comparing to price was pretty good. The tatertots were also cheesily delicious. Recommended if you're in the neighborhood!
