This charming, classic-style diner is a true gem—consistently delivering top-notch food, warm and attentive service, and a level of cleanliness that’s respectable given the staffing and clientele. It’s the kind of place that feels both nostalgic and dependable, making every visit a pleasure.
Let’s talk about the food: hands down, they serve the best green chili in town—especially when Don Pedro’s is closed (though honestly, it gives them a run for their money even when they’re open). If you’re looking for something unforgettable, do yourself a favor and try the smothered crispy tots. Crispy, flavorful, and generously covered in that incredible green chili—they're pure comfort on a plate. You will crave them again.
Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates good food served with heart in a classic, welcoming atmosphere.
Comforting, creative, and absolutely delicious.!!!!!!!!
Excellent Diner! Food was amazing and Cori offered Excellent service!
Huge rave to our server Kamar and the cook. (sorry diddnt catch his name) Fantastic service, very respectful, friendly, and attended to all of our needs. Food came out quickly and hot . job well done !
When you walk in you seat yourself. When you’re seated you use your phone for a QR code. You do everything yourself why even bother with a rude waitress? We asked for menus and were told to scan the QR code. We looked at the prices and the fact no one else was there and left. We said we wanted menus and then the waitress claimed they had some?! Maybe when we asked politely the first time you could’ve given them to us? They must just stay in business with to go orders/ the hotel next store or something because the waitress was rude and no customers on a Friday night. We left and went to the hitching post that had nice servers and menus. Not sure how this place survives…
Great diner food and friendly staff.
Cori was our server today for our first time at Penny's Diner and was amazing. On top of service and greatly appreciated. The burgers were top notch. Will definitely return again.
Really neat place to eat. Old 60's music playing and all the staff has been great. The food is OK. I had a chicken fry steak and it tasted like a box steak, which I'm sure it was. The green bean were microwaved. I did eat breakfast there and it was great
Great place for breakfast and they have amazing staff i would definitely recommend going if your driving down highway 80 through green river WY
Driving by, thought that would be a fun place to eat. Menu was on QR code. (Our cell phones did not get service.)We got no acknowledgement, looked at the waitress many times. She just looked right past us. We waited 30 min. Still no acknowledgement or did we need help with anything. Very disappointing. Finally just left. Will not go back.

Very yummerz in my tummerz indeed, staff were very lovely, almost lovely enough for us to stop our cross country road trip and pull up to green river as permanent residents. P.s tots slapped so hard I had to stash a few for later, see video for reference

Now keep in mind, there was maybe 6 ppl eating here. I had to ask a waitress for a menu (which is a bunch of papers stapled together). After 10 min. with being totally ignored ( no drinks, no "I'll be right with you, nothing) we left.
The cook is awesome. The owners have let this place go which us a disgrace.
