We never eat out, but occasionally when we do it's always hitching post! The last time we came, 2 months ago, they were under staffed, but the food was worth the wait, this time a Tuesday evening at 7,with plenty of help! We waited 45 mins for fried pickles, ( I usually love) was undercooked and gooey! Waited another 45 mins for my husband's burger&fries, that were cold! All of it! Thankfully I just had the salad bar that was definitely NOT Worth 13$ for a small plate! ON TOP OF ALL that , an hour after we ate my husband got sick! Food poisoning! No doubt! This will be the last time we eat here! We are all about supporting local businesses, but it's hard to go back after something like that! Sorry, this has always been our go to place to eat! Need a better cook or 2! Also our waiter never came by once to tell us why we were waiting so long and we had empty glasses, never came until he brought the soggy pickles! We were going to complain cuz my hubby said his burger tasted terrible( has never happened), but he was so hungry after waiting that long! He ate only a few bites of the burger and a couple fries. The waiter didn't care. This was the worst experience here in many years! I hope it doesn't end up like all the other places! CLOSED!

Thank you to the staff for being accommodating and friendly. Even when faced with a huge order, nothing but kindness. To Kelly and the whole crew, may the light always shine on your faces!

It has raised its prices and we are less likely to go there with the familyVegetarian options: They offer an extensive salad bar and they offer a very good veggie burger

I order chicken Alfredo there a lot. I love the sauce. But the last 4 times I've ordered it, it's been different. The first time they forgot the chicken altogether. The second time there was no noodles, only balls of pasta. Consistancy is a problem but overall the food is good. Walters tend to squabble a lot as well.

One and done! Won't return here. Seniors "fish n chips" is one small fish filet (3 bites) and a small bag of Lays potato chips. Way overpriced. Seniors spaghetti and meatball was good. Fair price. For dessert, it took a half hour plus for a cinnamon roll just to learn it would take longer. Not sure how that would have ended up. Two hours for 2 kids meals, not my thing.

On a whim, while staying in rock springs, my sweetheart and I had a hankering for soup and salad. We chose to one trip soup and salad bar. The clam chowder was delicious and the salad bar had lots of fresh options and was very clean. We also shared the ham sandwich. I was tasty and they didn't skimp on the ham.We will definitely go back.

Went in with my family because we were in GR for a dance recital. Waitress kept tell us our food was on the way. Took over an hour and a half to get our food to us. It was cold. One burger was missing a top bun. Asked for a bun, ketchup, and mustard. Never came out. I gave my daughter my top bun and we ate. We were waiting on my youngest chicken strips and fry’s and the waitress told me to be patient. There were two other tables that had gotten their food before ours. We were told it was because we had a large party. The other table had one less person than we did. Food was good like always. Their food is always good. I gave a one Star for food because we never got the top bun and food was cold. This will be the last time I eat at the Hitching Post for a while.

We come to the Hitching Post for breakfast as the service and food is better than it has been in the evening. This time in, we ordered the loaded biscuits and gravy with extra crispy hashbrowns, and the eggs Benedict with extra crispy hashbowns. We've always loved the deep-fried hashbrowns, but today, they wouldn't do it, not sure why. The food was still great, and I would highly recommend. The smothered burrito is a must, too, of you've never had it. :)Never had a bad waitress in the AM. Service is always friendly and personable.
