This place used to be the best restaurant in town hands down BUT the new owner changed the way the original food was. Stuffed mushrooms not as good, the salad dressing tasted different, the lamb not as good and the mashed potatoes completely different and nothing was better.. i stopped going, more of a tourist trap nowadays

While in Jackson, i took my wife to the Blue Lion for our anniversary dinner. They reserved their corner window seat for us with a nice view and that night there was live music, a quiet guitar player that was barely audible above the room's voices. For dinner, my wife had the rack of lamb and i had the bison short rib after the delicious french onion soup started. Both entrees were delicious, each had a unique sauce that really elevated the meals. I would highly recommend the Blue Lion if you're in town and looking for an upscale meal.

What a great find! Strip steak was one of the best steaks I've ever had…and I’m old and finicky! The sauces were amazing. Service could not have been better. You could easily have a conversation here without screaming. You won’t regret dining here. The only reason I gave atmosphere 4 stars is because 5 of us were a little crammed into space.

Excellent food and service. We had the crab stuffed mushrooms and the gnudi for appetizers. The rack of lamb was probably top 2-3 I’ve ever had. There was a gentleman playing guitar but subtle enough that you could have conversation. He was amazing too.

Couples dinner. The food was fantastic, perfect prepared. The service was on a very high level. It is a small space, we were upstairs. A great dinning experience for a high price.
We came at the end of the off season & walked by several times. So unexpected! A lovely experience & the food was fantastic!! Highly recommend! Our server was also great!! Petko wonderful!

The Blue Lion was fantastic. The elk tenderloin was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service was both professional and genuinely friendly. All of the food we tried was excellent. Such a lovely place and absolutely worth a visit.

Entree bison short ribs was a miss and dessert was not as described. Sold as mud pie in reality just coffee ice cream in pie form. Never had a bad meal here till this last time.
Absolutely amazing everything! Rack of lamb, amazing! Stuffed mushrooms, amazing! Waitress, amazing! Hostess, even took my wife's coat for her, amazing! 15 out of 10! Must go!

Dining that is just fine, is not quite the same as fine dining. A restaurant that suffers from being a medium sized fish in a small pond. The food is perfectly ok, but would you pay top dollar for just ok?

This was hands down the high point of our trip to Jackson! From the second we walked in we felt welcomed and taken care of. Our server, Dilan, was amazing and she recommended the perfect apps and entree. The night was made perfect by Marco's amazing guitar. We would highly recommend The Blue Lion.
What a treat. Great food, great service in a comfy old house. Tried and true recipes, standard upscale items. Nice wine list. If you need a solid meal in JH, this is the place. TOO MANY spots now are making plates needlessly complicated, the menu is full of too many adjectives and place-names. Want a great protein with a good sauce and a tasty side/carb? How about a good salad INCLUDED with the entree? GO!
